These “bubble-gumless cards” came from a Dayton newspaper, who I assume create that year's set to support Cincinnati's hosting of the 1970 All-Star Game. The paper printed a set of 160 players and covered every corner of the country, not just Orioles and Reds.

This set has been listed in major hobby guides since the 1970s.  Once again, the purpose of this site is to provide information, not to quibble over what constitutes a "trading card."

Click on the RCOTD's image - it will take you to that card in the set. Click on the Checklist link once on that card's page, you'll see the entire set.

Wasn't referring to you, bobscardz.  Just trying to get everyone to get a grip about what's worthwhile.

Yep I thought some folks would freak  out that a newspaper clipping would make it here.

Why all the haters on the "newspaper clipping"? "That's not a card!" "Why is that here?" WOW!

We used to cut these out then glue them to the cardboard that came in ma's nylons. Then we had a card! We traded and collecting these along with our "real" cards.

What you're seeing is the front and back of the "card".  The intention was to cut them out of the newspaper, fold them in half and glue them together to create a "card".

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.
