I had a Babe Ruth bat card in a 1" screwdown and a Joe DiMaggio cut auto in a 1/2" screwdown for about a decade and didn't even think about the possibility of damage. I pulled them out a couple of months ago to put them in to mags, I was pretty lucky there were no problems. Even in sleeves I heard they can get damage with the sleeve sticking to the card and peeling off when removed.

Ok, y'all made me paranoid enough to go check out a card that's been in a screw down for about two years. It's absolutely fine. And I'm not convinced that there's any less risk to putting it in a penny sleeve or binder. They stay. I live on the edge! v3

Rescued these very valuable cards from them. LOL

They all came out fine. Except one, which I refuse to even bother with. It'll be a freebie.
