Anyone have a good suggestion on how to store really thick cards in binders? For example, the current 2018 Topps Opening Day Diamond Relics (GU dirt...yes dirt) are too thick for 9 pocket or even 8 pocket pages (they stick out too much). 6 pocket pages are just as narrow as 9 pockets, so that's out. Any thoughts?

We have some of one of our players who had some very thick cards in 4-pocket pages. I also think the cards are in team bags with brand new top loaders front and back for added protection. They are in a separate binder from the regular cards that fit in the 9-pocket pages..

Thanks Dan. That's what I've been leaning towards, although I think I would keep them in the same binder.
A different set I had issues with as a set collector were the 2003 Flair Greats Sweet Swatch Box Toppers. They were too big for the 2 pocket pages for 5X7 cards. But I found that they fit perfectly in the 1 pocket 8.5X11 pages. Since the cards are nice and thick, they fit nicely one on top of the other.

For these thick cards I use magnet or screw down holders. It just depends on the thickness and what the store or I have at the time I pull. Even a couple of mine are in the 25 card count hinge holders

One would think the the manu's out there can make almost every concievable toploader and such that a thick card page would be a possibility. I get frustrated with the 20 or 30 Ranfords left out from the card party!! LOL

I think I've come up with a solution for the real thick cards. The 8 pocket pages are just a little too small for these thick cards and they stick up above the pocket. However, I am going to use the 8 pocket pages, trim off the top row and the side with the binder holes, and then stick them insides the large 8.5 x 11 1 pocket page.
Or maybe I should just let them stick up on the 8 pocket, I don't know.

I've been putting my thick relic cards into toploaders, then adding them to four pocket pages. The only trouble is when I turn the 4 pocket pages in the binder the toploaders slide out the top. Has anyone found a solution for this? Is there a way to safely secure the top of the pages without damage to the pages and/or cards?

I use a heat sealer, I am not concerned about the damage caused to a 25 cent page though.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.
