Balled up Kleenex or paper towels work very well.

The last time this question came up, my favorite idea was sponges from the dollar store. I haven't needed them myself, but if I do, that's what I'm going to try.
Oh, yeah, last time this is where the conversation degraded to asking which sets are sponge-worthy.

One of the daily video guys on here mentioned saving blaster boxes, so credit to him for turning me on to this one... I can't speak for 800 count boxes, but blaster boxes are perfect in the 5000 count boxes.

If you live near Ranfordfan, you can use snowballs. They're free to make, and it never gets warm enough to melt them.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

That may have been me. I recently started saving the blaster boxes I open for this purpose. I fill the boxes up with the plastic they are wrapped in as well as the empty packs and tape them shut. They are a good size to fit in monster boxes or other storage boxes. Plus if you open many of these it keeps you from trashing them.

I stack my cards vertically so they stay flat and can make my storage space more efficient. I don't mind pulling my cards a handful out at a time to look through them or add/remove individual cards. The way I make small storage space work for me in boxes is I make sections with cardboard dividers like a liquor store box where the cuts are half way through each piece so it makes a hash "#"(but straighter than that!) the height and length and width of the box. If the box is too long for my cardboard pieces, I tape them together end-to-end to make them long/tall enough to use the box. I allow enough room on each long side to fit my fingers(about 1/2 inch on each side. I also label each section with a tag or in the "slot" so I know whats in it by year/brand. 0I use horizontal boxes for my mismatches and cards that dont fit with sets, these I don't label and go through often. I leave duplicate cards together so I don't have to remember where multiple cards of the same brand/series are. Just some insight as to how I see it, thanks for posting! -J. Taylor

Sponges are damp right out the package, at least real ones. I would never use those. But I've used just about anything else I could get my hands on over the years. Walmart bags, empty wax wrappers, paper towels, tissues, those nasty plastic cases, cardboard, etc. But my favorite is more cards.
