Hi all...the site lists three versions of the 1982 Topps Tom Seaver all star card, #346.  As a variation collector, I've been searching for the A version for some time.  Here is the link: https://www.tradingcarddb.com/ViewCard.cfm/sid/89/cid/24495/1982-Topps-346-Tom-Seaver

My gut feeling on this card is that it does not exist.  Can any of the 100 or so people that list having this card in their collection confirm its existence?  My guess is that the image is doctored somehow and that the folks that have it listed as in their collection added all card in the set to their collection without closely looking at the variations.

It is currently tied for 9th on the "Most Common Cards in Member's Wantlists" section and I've been searching for it for 5 years now.  There are a handful of other cards on that list that I doubt their existence, but I'm still researching.  Can anyone help with the Seaver?

Having no practical knowledge of the variations of this card, I just went to the card, and then clicked "next" to look at the other 2 variations.  The card literally does not change except for the variations.  I would expect that 3 different scans of 3 different cards would not line up that exactly.

I noticed the same thing scrolling thru the Prev Next buttons.  And the word "the" shifts to the left compared to "t ed".  Definitely think one real scan/image has been photoshopped to create the other two.

While my TCDB collection says I have 2 of the 3 (not the "the" version, which was originally questioned, though), right now I can only vouch that the corrected version of this card exists.  I would expect the "t__ed" version card to have been in the same location as that one, but it was not.  So perhaps I erred on checking that box, or perhaps I clicked on "add whole set to my collection" and didn't notice there was an error or variant that was in there.  Darn.

The t ed version certainly exists and the tied version is sitting here in my set.

Couldn't find any the versions anywhere.

Interestingly... Nobody has this card f/s or f/t

The backs of each do not change, except for the "variation", but if you look at the front you can see minor adjustments, one even seems to have been stretched slightly. HOWEVER, if you enlarge the screen to see the scans even closer you can see that the front is the same card for each variant. If you line up the screens so that you can use the arrows to move from page to page and focus on a dot to the left of the top star on the bottom group of stars you can tell that this is the same card for all variants. If you do the same for the back, the last two (t ed and tied) they are the same card. Look for a small smudge at the bottom left corner inside the border and notice that it's on both back scans, but not on the first card (the one with "the"). Hmm?

As of this writing, a seller on ebay has the "t ed" and "tied" versions for sale together for $4.95 plus 1.65 shipping.

Version B scan was submitted by a different person from the other two.  And A&C weren't added at the same time.  They all pre-date the change log, so no telling if the versions changed after 100+ people added the A cards to their collections.

I know that the "tied and "t ed" versions exist, as I have them both.  It's just the "the" version that has me wondering.  I can find no mention of it other than this site, and as I said I've been searching for it for a long time.  Even PSA has only graded the "t ed" and "tied" versions and has no mention of a "the" version in its registry.  Was hoping somebody here could verify its existence.  Unfortunately, it is rather difficult to verify that something does NOT exist.
