Just curious on how others handle duplicates? Do you have a separate collection for duplicates?
thanks

90% of my duplicates are on my for sale trade list. I have a few of my favorite players. For those so far i just put a note in the details but eventually I’ll mive them to a separate collection.

My personal thing is to leave them in the same collection and add to my for sale trade list. You’ll probably get several answers, hopefully you find the one that works best for you.

I used to have them listed as part of my main collection but recently moved them all to a separate collection. It's so much easier to manage them now, you couldn't pay me to put them back into the main collection, lol! I'm still a few years away from listing the vast majority of them, only about 1/8th of my tradelist is listed.
Edit to add: Welcome to the Database! Just saw it was your first post.

VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards. I don't list my duplicates on the website. I have a box of cards for my son that I put my duplicates in just in case he ever gets into trading cards.
If I have more than 1 duplicate of a card, it then goes into another box that I have for trading/giving away. I am not big trader so it doesn't usually do me any good to list them here. Any trades I have made have been circumstances of having something I think someone might want or someone mentioning to me that they have something I might want and working out a trade from there.
I have some cards that I will probably end up just mailing out to members here sometime, but I am currently on a limited income so kind of hard to justify paying postage right now for me. Maybe for the holidays.

My collection is my PC and is not for trade or sale. I do have around 1000 dupilcate of my PC. I do not have them listed here as i normaly trade them with an other Husker collector. I sent a couple hundred and he sents a couple hundred, we just pay the postage and hope we get a few cards that we need. This last year he has quit collecting so I may have to list them here.
My want list is even Husker cards I can find that I do not have.
My for sale/trade list is all the cards I have now (execpt the sets I have) After down sizing a lot over the past few years. I have my nephew's collection of over 150,000 cards not listed. (except a few) They are a mess and takes me forever to find any thing in them.

Hi Mark,
I used the Card Collector as well. Sounds like they battled with Beckett and lost...
Unfortunately you have to sit down and enter everything here..
As far as duplicates go..I used to enter all of mine but now have become more selective in what I enter..I quickly found out that no one was interested in my 10,000 1990 Donruss baseball doubles for trades..
Do what you are comfortable with..
Bill

Mark, I will echo a the sentiments above. You will figure out what works for you.
For me, I list every card I have on the website. I do keep my duplicates in a separate collection and they are tagged as being available 'For Trade'. I also have a some complete sets that I have duplicates. I also have a separate colletion for these sets as part of my collection (not for trade). The system does three things for me: (1) keeps PC separate from the rest (one copy of each card), (2) all singles are in a separate collection and for trade/sale on this website, (3) separate duplicate sets from singles to trade, so I can sell/trade as a set when I choose.

Oone of every card I have for trade is listed on here in my main collection. I also have a second ID for my PC in which again, duplicates are listed for trade hopefully for cards ofplayers in my PC. Since the system added the ability to have more thanone collection underone ID, I also have my PC on this ID but not my traders; the system doesn't (yet) segregate collections for trades.
Yes it does take time to load up all of the collection and any traders you have but it is definitely worth the time. I never thought anyone would want a 1989 Donruss common, but one of them was asked for and sent in a trade. This site is a site for collectors some of who build sets. We all have that one elusive card that we can't find at a show or card store because it is a common valued at maybe 1 cent. Here, you can find it.
Don't look at it as work so much as enjoying your collection. Organize your collection in what you want to keep and what you have for trade. Then start one set at a time to load it up. You will find it will soon be allin. Then it is just maintaing the organization of your collection, both at homeand on this site.
Enjoy it!
