Since joining the site in October of 2017 I haven’t really made any goals. Right now I’m focusing on finishing my one of every player card of the Senators that has been made. After that I plan to do NHL Family cards (siblings, fathers and sons etc....., Senators players who don’t have cards of them with the Sens, and Players with trophies. After all that we’ll see what my brain thinks up next.

These were my stated goals for 2018:
2018 Goals:
☑ meet members in person
☑ help other members reach their goals
Since I put an "s" on the end of "member" I guess it meant more than one. I met my first of 2018 on 2 July (ranfordfan) and my second and third on 29 July (dsorek and Mb). I've also met a fourth this year on 21 November (kents_stuff).
For my second goal, I have helped 109 members so far. I think I can reach 130 members by the end of the year.
-------------------------------
Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

Happy to report that I've met all my 2018 goals:
(1) Completed a few junk-wax hockey sets I'd been meaning to complete. (1990-91 Topps, 1991-92 Bowman, 1991-92 OPC)
(2) Completed the 1977 Topps baseball set.
(3) Started to assemble a 1977-78 Topps Hockey set. (Only two cards needed to complete it now)
(4) Pared down my collection by trading and selling a couple thousand duplicate/unwnated baseball and hockey cards.
(5) Introduced my young nephew to collecting by giving him a big stack of cards, along with a binder and some pages.
(6) Posted enough cards on my trade list to reach 5,000 total. (Got close to 6,000 a few months ago, but after a bunch of trades it's down to 4,600)
Goals for 2019:
(1) Continue to pare down my collection by trading the rest of my duplicate/unwanted hockey and baseball cards.
(2) Complete the 1977-78 Topps Hockey set.
(3) Post more cards to my want list here on TCDB.
(4) Acquire some vintage baseball and hockey RCs on my want list.

My goals for both 2018 and 2019 are a bit ambiguous, but are part of my overall goal in collecting ... collect every OPC and UD hockey set from 1968 to present. That includes Young Guns and updates, but does not include inserts or other issues like Platinum, Chrome, MVP, Victory, etc.
For 2018:
- Completed more than 20 new sets in the collection; total number of completed sets = 144
- Execute more trades on this site; # of trades in 2018 = 20 (2017 = 10)
- Sell cards from my trade list: not much success here; only 2 sales in 2018
For 2019:
- Get through The Hoarder Lot
- Add 2018-19 OPC and UD sets to the collection. (OPC set 1-600 is in transit)
- Continue on goals from 2018
Happy collecting!

I just decided my primary 2019 goal will be to acquire one missing card from every base Topps pack-released flagship set, across all sports and non-sport, if my set isn't already complete. Does anyone know of any really absurdly rare set I may not know about, so I can change my mind now? I'm not talking Transcendent, or even Stadium Club. Just plain Topps releases. And I'm not getting dupes from sets I'm done with (maybe something like Tiffany or parallel for these; undecided). But any other set, I want to get one more card than I already have, and start any sets I have none of. I'll probably make a User List to track my progress.
-------------------------------
I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

I thought of one that should be fairly easy...get my completed trades here to 100. I'm at 75 complete and four in progress. Five if I ever hear back from one member.
I'm actually at more than that because I've done a few that didn't go through the Transaction Manager and a few before that format existed as well. When I get there this will be the third website I've reached the 100 mark of trades during my life, following the long-gone Trader Retreat and NUTS, the all-NASCAR forum that my old computer would not let me log in to.
I'd like to learn how to initiate trades properly via the Transaction Manager but I have to be realistic here, LOL.
-------------------------------
VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards. in 2019 I am setting three goals for my collection, very similar to last year...
1) Pick up 2,399 Different Red Sox cards to put my collection at 50,000 uniques Red Sox cards.
2) Thin out the non PC cards I have accumulated over the years (Have to do much better on this goal this year!)
3) Do more scanning and organizing of my PC.and upload scans here. Currently have 13,794 of my Red Sox inventoried here. Let's set the goal at getting 20,000 scanned and inventoried here.

I'm settling in on my goals for 2019. I need to work on some additional organization of my collection and I still need to get the remaining cards loaded into the database. I also want to focus in on narrowing down and defining what I want to collect. I would say my goals are:
1- Focus on trading getting rid of the high amount of duplicates I have been accumulating.
2-Finish off sets I am close to completing
3-Identify what I want to focus collecting
4-Filling needs on what I determine to be my focus of collecting
I think in my mind I have a lot of this determined. Now to organize and log and start putting up for sale/trade the cards not fitting my collecting goals.

My goal is to continue collecting all the cards devoted to the 1975 Cincinnati Reds. The cards can be of the players and coaches in the Major and Minor Leagues, Front Office staff and announcers. I am working on a checklist list that will include pictures of all the cards and prices from both Beckett and PSA. I want to have this completed by the National to make my purchases easier.

As I have failed both 2017 and 2018 goals I have dropped mine way down.
1. Reach 9,000 diff Husker cards (need approx 150 cards)
2. reasch 1,000 Ahman Green cards (need approx 50 cards)
3. Complete 2 sets ( have around 10 that I will be fousing on) When I say sets I mean only the cards of the Huskers in that set.
4. Becuse of C2C and others To help out other members with their collections. Even the one that do not collect football.
