You Know You're A Card Collector When . . .

(1) You have a closet devoted to your card collection.
(2) You have a room devoted to your card collection.
(3) That section of your home smells like cardboard.
(4) Your local school asks if you can spare any binders.
(5) You carry your commuter pass, driver's license, and credit cards in separate Ultra-Pros.
(6) You sort your commuter pass, driver's license, and credit cards in alphabetical order.
(7) To you, "1/3" is not a fraction, but it's probably going to be hard to find.
(8) You've traded for a custom card.
(9) You've created a custom card.
(10) You've put yourself on a custom card.
(11) You know that foil is not just for the kitchen.
(12) You know what acetate is, even though you're not a chemist.
(13) You know what a die-cut is, even though you're not a machinist.
(14) You own some CMYK plates, even though you don't work in a printing facility.
(15) A "box break" isn't what you do to a cardboard box before you put it in the recycle bin.

...Your neighbors and mailman think you deal drugs from all the bubble mailers and how you watch the mailbox. 

...you're on a trading card website posting silly forum replies.

I'm guilty of #'s (2),(3), (7 - 13), an (15) in McRun's post and obviously guilty of C2C's example.

Here's a couple that mark me as a TCDB addict:

...the people at the post office no longer ask you if your package contains anything "liquid, fragile, perishable, or hazardous" because they know it contains cards before you even tell them.

...in the morning you read the forums on TCDB before you read your work email.

...your wife knows who "Billy" is.

...you check the change log to see who's messing with "your" stuff.

...whenever you hear the words variation or parrallel, you prepare for an argument.

...when you have worked for a card shop.

...when you have worked for a card company.

...when you travel, you look up card shops (or card shows) when and where you'll be.

...when you use card supplies to pack up gifts that have nothing to do with cards, to throw the receiving party off.

...when you have multiple (filled) boxes of card suppllies (both used and new).

I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not, Chad!

...when you keep an Excel file of addresses of people you plan to send cards to...and do.

...when you can identify specific sets by smell.

...when you don't consider someone as having "made it" in a sport until they get cards. 

...when you spend hours obsessing over the proper spellings on a checklist, then leave out a letter when you sign your own name. 

...when you get a paper cut from a card, and check to make sure IT's OK before checking yourself.

...when you own and operate more than one card website. 

...when you get a soul-crushing feeling when you see a card you're editing the scans of pop up in the recently uploaded list by someone else. 

...when you change a doctor's appointment because it's the day you do your monthly upload to your card website. 

...when your family doesn't have to ask what to get you for any gift giving occasions. 

...when you handle IRs or work on checking PIDs on the toilet. 

...when you own 4 scanners because some can't handle certain kinds of cards.

(I've actually done most of these- only one I have not done. I'll let you guess which one)

very funny post and replies...maybe nominee for post of the year??

OK I'm a card collector.  I checked off most of the items.    It is weird when the post office lady makes a commit about :  Oh your trading is picking up this month.  She know nothing about card trading just that I send out cards at times.
