I used to do that but had a problem with post-it notes coming off. Have you had that issue? So I began taking a glue stick to the back of a penny-sleeve and stuck it on the ends of the boxes. I would then slip a card- or note- in it. That way it's easy to swap out if I need to make a change.

I had that problem too, hence the use of a piece of Scotch tape over the Post-It. I made a "pull-tab" on the tape as well. Easy to write over once and very easy to completely remove from a box or album with no damage. I used to use the stickers mentioned earlier, but they aren't as clean and effective to me for storage options that change occassionally. The Post-It Notes were originally intended to be only temporary markers, but over time, it seems they are a better option than most everything I've used in the past.

Another alternative would be an index card. Fold it so it can be hanging over the edge of the box, but low enough so you can label it.

An update on my progress: Late last night I received an unexpected trade request (unexpected because I don't have much on my trade list yet). My immediate thought was that it would take an hour to find the cards, based on my first go-around with putting my cards on this site and trying to trade. Well, this morning I went to look for the cards and, thanks to some good advice from Bruno and others, I spent about one minute finding the cards!
I will add that I've spent the last six months putting my cards in order before i started re-adding to the site last month, which made a big difference too. But knowing where the right boxes were was huge. Thanks guys!

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

I agree with swttzr, the small amount of reorganizing I've done has made a few trades so much easier. Since i do alot of big lot trading, that's where I fall short.....if the cards are sorted OK, if not, and I have to sort 1st....big delays...Just Sayin'.
I've really got to thank all the posts recently, regarding organizing, SS, pricing and so on. NOW I'm on a daily mission to get TOTALLY organized. Thanks Everybody

Well a couple weeks in and things are going good, got about half of everything put away and marked down where it is, when i come to a very big realization. You cant fit 6000 cards in a 5000 count box, so looks like i need to approach the boss about giving up another room for the expansion. Any good ideaa on the approach, i was thinking lots of beer lol
