Any of you all plan on attending the National in Chicago this year? Don't let this deter you, but I plan to be there. Maybe I'll even meet Admin?!?!

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

I want to say yes as it is on my bucket list. My son's summer soccer schedule might say otherwise so we'll see.

Tentatively planning on going for one day with my dad. Well. It’s been discussed anyway...

I'll never quit collecting entirely, but I am downsizing. Check out my COMC store and help me thin out what I don't want so I can buy cards that I do want. See something you like? Send me a message on here, and we can knock the price down quite a bit. I'll even take a bit of a loss if it means getting you a card you really want.

I hope to get there this year. I've never been to one before. Sounds like a fun day trip.

Hopefully I'll be there. Every year it's held in Chicago my son and I talk about going to it. Of course we haven't been yet. Maybe this is the year? I'll have to get a TCDB shirt before going though.

All right. Noob Wisconsinite here... I am not proud. I have no shame. I posted my 5000 box drop gaffe on the forum just two days ago. I'm human. Only one way to become more sophisticated. I have to learn. Sometimes that means asking silly questions...
What is National??
Summarize for us clueless noobs and PM me if you care to share elaborate details. I have no problem reading here, but I don't want to waste space on the forum for everyone else.... and maybe it literally is everyone else who knows.

JP, it's the biggest card show of the year. Here is the website: http://nsccshow.com/
Info there about this year's show, and also if you scroll down, a few pictures from last year. Not very many though. If you want to see better pictures, check out the TCDB Facebook page. Somebody (possibly Admin himself) goes every year and takes a bunch of pictures.

No silly questions here and you actually live close to where it is being held. The National is the mothership show. It is a 4-day event where hundreds of dealers and tens of thousands of collectors gather to immerse themselves in all things trading cards. The rare to the common, deals galore, vintage pack or box breaks (like the guy who pulled a 55 Bowman Mantle), autographs, special events, etc.
