No real point to this, but as I was just messaging a member and mentioned Yadier Molina as my favorite baseball player, I got to wondering how many of the forum regulars I could name their favorite player. Many of you I associate with teams, but maybe not a specific player. Here are the ones that quickly came to mind, and I did this without referring to anyone's profiles or signature lines:
Billy Kingsley: Elton Brand
Sportzcommish: Craig Biggio
Ranfordfan: Bill Ranford
Spazmatastic: Jimmie Johnson
NJDevils: Yogi Berra
Vrooomed: Steve Yzerman (although I associate Phillies as your team)
Vvvergeer: Ryne Sandberg
Olerud: John Olerud
Kaline: Al Kaline
I think Avsbruins is Ray Bourque
I know I had another in mind before I started typing, and my mind went blank. Most of you, I associate with a team, but a specific #1 player doesn't come to mind. Any of you guys got a top player for another member?

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

Scottzoe (sp?): Ted Williams
Forgive me for not remembering the name but someone is a huge Teemu Selanne fan.
Bounty13: Dan Marino

I'll never quit collecting entirely, but I am downsizing. Check out my COMC store and help me thin out what I don't want so I can buy cards that I do want. See something you like? Send me a message on here, and we can knock the price down quite a bit. I'll even take a bit of a loss if it means getting you a card you really want.

That's very impressive. I can't generally do that. Other than the people who have their favorite as the username, and a couple others that I've specifically talked to them about it, I barely remember who collects what sport.
Suomibear is the Teemu fan (and one of three Database members I've met in person)
hphillips is John Stockton and Pete Maravich
Lea DeFoote is Ted Musgrave
HutNut is Hut Stricklin

VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards. Damn, I'm impressed. And slightly honored. I would not have done nearly as well. Kaline, Billy, Ranford, Olerud. And I associate you with the Cardinals (which, alas, means not all Cardinals fans are bad...) and C2Cigars and CaptKirk with the Nats. Oh, and Sandyrusty with Canada and Vrooomed with the Phillies. Sorry, everyone else.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

I will confess that Biggio IS my favorite Astro, but I have more Bagwell and possibly even Berkman cards than his; that's due to more PIFs from basically two people - Hittinaway (Berkman) and marcbrubaker (Bags). Another confession, but my ALL-TIME favorite baseball player is Willie Mays. I just cannot afford most of his early cards and am really picky about which tribute cards I want.

Sorry Chuck, Jim Otto crossed my mind, but I wasnt certain enough to say it. I knew he was your quote on your profile. Should have just gone with my instinct.

Yzerman is actually my wife's favorite player (and was the focus of our card hunting days for about 8 years). We also have a very large Darren Daulton collection, but that was because my son wanted a player to chase.
As for me, I am all about the Phillies, and have been for longer than I've been in the hobby. I have 2 clear favorites - Mike Schmidt and Dale Murphy.
One may also say I just like cards. :)
David, that was an impressive "rattle off the top of your head" list!

Ok, I was thinking Yzerman was a co-collection with your wife, and I almost said Daulton, but that didn't seem right. Now I remember it's your son.
Unrelated, I looked through my trade history earlier, and except for a live trade with my brother that we ran through the site, the first real TCDB trade I ever made, I sent Vrooomed a bunch of Phillies, in exchange for a bunch of Cardinals.
