Averaging the last several sales bumps it down a tier 😉

lol I will have to save up before I send it in fingers crossed lol I know it is only an 8 or 9 but that would suck to have a $20K card you cant get back until you save enough money to bail it out of PSA Prison

Highly unlikely that I'll ever have a card graded, but can someone explain why it should cost more to have a $500 card graded than it would to have a $10 card graded? They are doing the exact, same, thing. I can understand more to insure the shipping. But it appears to cost more to grade a higher value card. They just shouldn't be....

I agree 100% that is why I am asking all these questions... My PC does not include some of the cards I want to get graded and sell... I want to be able to buy more of my PC so I figured I would get the ones worth over $100 if greaded, graded worth the effort for me but want the best deal if I can declare its value at < $500 to only have to pay $20.00 to get it graded then that should be on me... if it is worth $20K ask me if I want to pay more for shipping but dont charge me $1000 now instead of $20.00

I'm sure there's some additional liability when having a $20k card in their posession for potential loss/damage, and would hope that it goes to experienced, long term graders vs the grader who just got out of training class last week. I know at the absolute top service level, the president of PSA was involved in at least many of the assessment reviews. That said, it is a huge price difference between that and standard or bulk service levels.
Bottom line, they charge more because they can and the market supports it. Why does registered mail cost more than first class? They're doing the exact same thing, moving a package from point A to B, and registered takes a significantly longer time.

I Agree Kyle....
The shipping back was quick.... I was notified yesterday it was shipping and it will arrive tomorrow... Cal to Fla not bad... I will probably sell and buy the plat membership send in 15 cards that I would sell when they return... that would get me pleanty of $$$ to fill the gaps in my PC then I would send my PC in as a bulk just to get them slabbed

You should go to the PSA site and look at the POP Report for the 1980 Topps set. See how many Henderson's have been graded, and see how many got a 10. Looking at the numbers might make you reconsider. Here, I'll give you the run down. Over 18 thousand Henderson rookies have been submitted. Out of that only 24 have received a Gem Mint 10 grade. Only 1876 have received a Mint 9. As I see it, if you want a 10 (and you really believe your card can grade a 10), you should send it at a higher level of grading, which costs much more. You can send it at the Regular level, giving high Beckett as the value. But I wouldn't bet you get better than a 9. Something to consider.
