Hey everyone.  I'm fairly new to the site & this is my first forum inquiry.  I'm currently putting most of my collection in binders except for high dollar rookies/autos/jerseys etc.  I bought a few of the Ultra-Pro binders & their branded platinum pages.  My question is what would be everyone's views on how many pages should be in each binder?  After a while, the binder will obviously get heavier and if I want to stand it up the bottom can droop.  I know some collectors lay it down.  I was thinking 50-60 pages?  Comments are welcome.

I'm not a binder guy- I've seen the pages attack the cards too many times- but back when I used them I would put in as many as the binder cold hold and have the cover stay flat.

Filled to capacity. Not over-filled.

And then stored upright tightly between other items. This will prevent droop.

And use sheet lifters to prevent the top and bottom pages from slipping around the rings and damaging cards.

Thanks for the replies, Billy and Dan.  Yeah, I don't want to make the binders too heavy.  Muggsy is a great player to like.  I've met him a few times when I lived in Charlotte and is a great community ambassador.  I will definitely get some sheet lifters.  I'm glad to be a part of the community.  

I am shifting away from binders like Billy.  The ones I still have are all stored flat with lifters as Dan pointed and filled but not overfilled.

I use lifters and have just started with hanging binders. No droop, no curl. Luv em.

Where did you find the hanging binders?  If you like them I am thinking of shifting what I have left in binders to them.

Dan said all the basics. I would add don't use any binders larger than 3" thick. Those tend to get heavy fast and suck away the enjoyment of going though the binders because you are lifting a dang heavy book just to look at your cards or to add some.

There is also the single card vs. double stuff schools of thought. If you enjoy stats on the back and the entire card then only do one card per pocket. If you are short on stoarge space or don't care about seeing card backs then double stuff away. Personally I prefer the single card method.

With D-Ring binders there is less of a risk of the ring bumping into the inner cards, and the cards can be laid flat if the binder is laid flat.  All other factors being equal, go for a D-ring rather than an O-ring. 

  However,  I put O-rings to use if I can get them cheap or free.
