As of right now; I have 34 submissions but only 9 multi-mentioned. So I'm holding out hope that a few more of you chip in with your Top 10 '80s Superstars.

Just to add: 24 players; 10 pitchers total the 34 submissions.

Mattingly, Nolan Ryan, Brett, Schmidt, Clemens, Ripken, Henderson, Boggs, Gwynn, Sandberg
Honorable Mentions: Winfield, Yount, Molitor, Dawson, Raines, Ozzie Smith, Eddie Murray, Gary Carter, Fisk, Puckett,
I know I'm light on pitchers. It seems like a ton of guys were finishing out their HOF careers and didn't really star in the '80s. Maybe Jack Morris would be considered one of the best of the entire decade. Other pitchers would be Eckersley, Lee Smith,
I'm forgetting plenty of guys, especially pitchers, but those top guys are pretty solid. Mattingly is my biased choice.

I would probably just go about this by thinking of the key rookies from the mid 70's on forward.
197? Dave Winfield, Mike schmidt
1975 George Bett, Robin Yount
1976 Dennis Eckersley
1977 Andre Dawson
1978 Eddie Murray, Paul Molitor
1979 Ozzie Smith
1980 Rickey Henderson
You get the idea of what I am saying.

Of course you can always google leaders for the 80's as well. Some of the better pitchers include Dave Stieb, Bob Welch, Fernando Valenzuela, Bert Blyleven, Orel Hershiser, Rodger Clemens, Nolan Ryan, Dwight Gooden, John Tudor, Bret Saberhagen, Charlie Hough, Jack Morris, Mario Soto, Ted Higuera, Rick Sutcliffe, Rick Reuschel, Steve Carlton, Rod Guidry, Frank Viola, Dan Quisenberry, Mark Gubicza. It's a weird all decade group as very few were dominant certain HOF guys.

Not sure how I forgot about Cal Ripken, Jr.
