Well, of course my wonderful wife trekked to the local card shop and picked up some things off my want list for me. She went after some of my prioritized cards, but also went into the "Other Cool but Lower Priority Cards" list, which is always fun.
So I have all of the 1963 World Series cards (about th '62 Series, of course) and a '56 Campanella, a '59 Musial, and '57 Kluszewski, which were all nice surprises. Plus a '69 Brooks Robinson, leaving me three cards short of that set. And a bunch of '68s, including Yaz, Maris, Perez, and Frank Robinson.
Couple all that with the $100 gift visa card from Mom-in-Law, and I did very well this birthday. I think that will go towards a 1935 or 1938 Goudey or a Cub from the 1800s or a T204 Ramly Cub or a T207 Cub. I'll have to wait until the right card comes up on eBay, but, apropos of another recent thread, if anyone has one of those to sell, let me know.
Happy collecting, eveyone.
