Like the title says let's do away with scotch tape or clear tape. Painters tape is pretty cheap guys. Then no one has to darn near ruin cards to get them unpacked. C'mon join the dark side, or Blue side. LOL

Yeah, but if it wasn't for Scotch tape I wouldn't have any ruined toploaders to use for trades.
My roll of blue painters tape was real cheap...free. I found it in a Home Depot parking lot.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

I try to make it a point to message a user who sends me cards in taped toploaders. Like C2C, ruined toploaders covered in scotch tape are what I use for my packages, so it isn't the end of the world. When I use them, I secure them with blue painter's tape. However, until I got into the trading/PIF scene, I wasn't aware of this until someone mentioned it. If there are others out there who don't realize how much more beneficial painter's tape is, I try and help them out with a message.

I'll never quit collecting entirely, but I am downsizing. Check out my COMC store and help me thin out what I don't want so I can buy cards that I do want. See something you like? Send me a message on here, and we can knock the price down quite a bit. I'll even take a bit of a loss if it means getting you a card you really want.

18 years of buying and trading online I’d never had an issue with scotch tape and never understood people whining about tape on a top loader (it’s just packing material, use your own top loader I say) until about 2 weeks ago I received my first card destroyed by tape. Point taken. Team bags or painters tape from here on out.

Robert “It breaks your heart. It is designed to break your heart. The game begins in the spring, when everything else begins again, and it blossoms in the summer, filling the afternoons and evenings, and then as soon as the chill rains come, it stops and leaves you to face the fall alone. You count on it, rely on it to buffer the passage of time, to keep the memory of sunshine and high skies alive, and then just when the days are all twilight, when you need it most, it stops. Today, October 2, a Sunday of rain and broken branches and leaf-clogged drains and slick streets, it stopped and summer was gone.” ― A. Bartlett Giamatti robertkimble.us/tradingcards

I have noticed blue painters tape in most of my received trades. I have always used clear tape and never had anyone say anything or an issue on my end with it. So can someone clue me in on what I am missing here.

Having read the other thread on this subject I will be buying some painters tape this weekend and give all the clear tape I have to my wife.

I always use painters (yellow in my country). Hate when someone uses scotch.
