I guess this is a little whiny, but I was hoping to get clarification. Last weekend I saw the 2019 Panini Prestige Football came out, so I bought a hanger box, opened them, and when I saw there were no images on the website, I got excited I could finally contribute something. I spent a lot of time Friday and Saturday scanning my hanger box and submitting all the picks. This was the 13th and 14th. I checked back everyday this week to see my images get posted and everyday they weren't. Now I logged on and see all the images are posted. It says posted by Carthage44 on July 16. I submitted my scans on the 13th.
My question is...what happened? I need to know because that took me a lot of time and appears to be all for nothing. It's not really all that motivating for me to do it again if I see I have items missing from the site. If I screwed something up, then that is obviously on me, but I want to know so I don't make the same mistake twice. The scans showed up in my queue and had a green background saying cropped, now it appears they were just discarded.

Actually I have often wondered about this...what happens to scans in the queue that were missing when uploaded, and before the site processes them somebody else with image processing permissions uploads the cards to that spot. Going by your description the site software just turfs those scans because an image already exists in that spot when they are processed. Images in the queue can take some days to be processed. I can surmmize that you uploaded them to the queue, they were cropped (and I did see many of them in the queue) but before they were fully processed Carthage44 posted them and he does not need to have his scans approved due to his permission level.

I also wanted to make sure I was clear that I wasn't implying Carthage did anything wrong, I only put his name in to show it wasn't my scan included and the date of scan was after my date. I apologize if I implied anyone did anything wrong, I just wanted to understand what happened and included the details in case that helps.

I don't think your post came off that way, at lease I didn't interpret it as such.

It's an unfortunate way the site works, but yes, if it's waiting in the queue, and someone else with self-approval permission posts the images while yours are waiting in the queue, the approved ones supercede the ones in the queue.
muskie - you may wish to message Admin. There might be something that can be done in this situation since it can be proven that yours were in the system first.
And as a side note, carthage44 did nothing incorrectly or even remotely questionable here. In case anyone thinks otherwise.

No, but, that does bring up the current question of members needing points vs. members not needing points. Why would members not needing points get 1st dibs? Carthage, I'm not bashing you, PLEASE, I'm questioning the system.
Why not Vote: POINT DONATION PROGRAM......PIF Points.

I don't think points has anything to do with uploading your own images. I believe it's a matter of a test and a track record of acceptable images.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

It's exactly this, and basically, just like with those who have self-approval - whoever gets there first, their image is the one that goes in.

Maybe the site could add a feature where if someone uploads an image that requires approval, the card’s image will show as “Image pending approval.” That way if someone with higher priveldges comes along they can see a missing image is already awaiting approval in the queue.
If the scan is bad or low quality, the next uploader can still disapprove the scan and upload their own, but at least then the original uploader won’t get discouraged or feel like they needlessly wasted their time.
Just a thought.

I have begun the process of selling most of my collection on eBay (https://www.ebay.com/usr/k-lots). The rest will be practically given away. If you'd like to "rescue" a card from this fate, give me an offer. I'm currently only entertaining trades that help me downsize my collection or provide equitable cost/value for a card I will keep (see "Collects" in my profile). -Bob

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.
