Been thinking about this, but don't know why. I think each person should get 1 point for every positive feedback from a trade. Could be a way for a person to accumulate points, especially if they do not own a scanner, etc.... What do you think?

I like it but can we take a point away from someone who doesn't respond to a trade offer after a month when it shows they sign in every day?

Always looking for Blackhawk hockey, Notre Dame Football, White Sox and Bears Stuff. I have a plaque in my card room that says, "I could have been a millionaire but my mom threw out my baseball cards". How apropos!!! Collecting Chicago Blackhawks Hockey, Doug Wilson Hockey, Chicago Bears Older, Notre Dame Football in their college jerseys and Chicago White Sox.

Points are rewards for contributing to the database. Feedbacks do not contribute anything to the database.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

I think the point of the original question is that points shouldn't JUST be for the database contributions. The site is more than a database and I agree that the trading experience would be enhanced if members were further incentivized to act promptly and communicate well for trades.

I would be in favor, ONLY because I need other ways of adding points to climb up the level ladder.

We’ve already had many members vocalize their issues with point farmers, and I can remember one instance in the last year or so where we had a member who was “feedback farming”, if you will. That could be an ugly combo.
If you’re willing to work at it, there are a multitude of ways to earn points without a scanner. I’m closing in on Level 8 myself and most of my contributions have come before I had a scanner. We’re backed up to 13 pages of IRs now and probably at least one full page of those is missing sets/checklists. Adding those is actually worth more points than adding a scan.
My final thought (and in case you have noticed, I’m not in favor of this idea) is that there is already incentive for feedback - your reputation. In turn, that reputation allows you to trade and interact here much more favorably than a member with a poor feedback score. Maybe that’s just me and my crazy brain, I don’t know, but that incentive is enough for this guy.

I'll never quit collecting entirely, but I am downsizing. Check out my COMC store and help me thin out what I don't want so I can buy cards that I do want. See something you like? Send me a message on here, and we can knock the price down quite a bit. I'll even take a bit of a loss if it means getting you a card you really want.

I couldn't give two hoots if I even had a point so I really don't care. If you want to give points for a trade I would be fine with it but if you really want points there are much easier ways to earn points.

A seperate ranking for trades feedback already there get it from your Prifile page is to go look down at under TRADING your feedback', This is what I look at Is your rating a green box, if not, when, why, and who. There are members that do a lot of work in background and do not trade that much. There are members here that got points, almost 500, in a short time made a lot of trades, But we found out "Do not trade with him, because you wil wait and wait, and get a excuss and a promise and wait again. By the time I got the cards He stopped loging in and I got the cards he sent via other trades
So what you want to judge trade partners by, Points or feedback? w When I scan cards I use the points for 1 thing, A target when scaning to stop at for the night. I want to scan 25 cards well when I get 75 more points time to stop

Robert “It breaks your heart. It is designed to break your heart. The game begins in the spring, when everything else begins again, and it blossoms in the summer, filling the afternoons and evenings, and then as soon as the chill rains come, it stops and leaves you to face the fall alone. You count on it, rely on it to buffer the passage of time, to keep the memory of sunshine and high skies alive, and then just when the days are all twilight, when you need it most, it stops. Today, October 2, a Sunday of rain and broken branches and leaf-clogged drains and slick streets, it stopped and summer was gone.” ― A. Bartlett Giamatti robertkimble.us/tradingcards

I don’t get the whole point thing anyway. At least at the arcade you can redeem your tickets for cheap plastic stuff or candy.

Aint broke, so dont fix it.... you want the points bad enough, you'll find ways to EARN them...
We dont need a bunch of point-farming Level 8's to start screwing this up just because they have the permissions... ADMIN has done a great job with running this site, so dont think they'ed be too happy if it started getting mucked up!!
