Isn't it great when you learn that there is a variation or rare verison of a particular card that you never knww about, then you go to look at your personal colleiton and it turns out you have the rare one? I have had that happen a few times recently as I start to research variations and error cards.

So, just curious. What was the rate variation you found?

Error and variation collecting was the thing that brought me back to card collecting @ 25 yrs ago. THE SEARCH was on ! Going back thru all my "monsters" was so exciting, and what a collection of ERR/VAR/COR cards I built. Quite a rewarding experience.

So bbcards, I collect mostly superhero cards, so I'm not sure how much my finds will mean to most of the people on this site who tend to collect sports cards. However, I was very happy to find that I had the Toy Biz version of 1993 X-Men Series 2 Rictor, which could only be found by purchasing the action figures that came out at the same time as the retail card set. I also found I had the rarer version of the 1995 Fleer X-Men Sauron card which sells for about a dollar more than the regular one. These are minor variations, and you can't really tell you have them unless you know to look for them.

That's definitely a problem wth cards that come from action figures, but the couple I have from that set are in pretty great condition, thankfully.

Nice! A few of mine from the release that came with the X-Men Ultra cards, the tape on them has made them permanently sticky and stuck in the pages I put them in back in the 1990s. When I tried to get all my cards out of pages about a decade ago, I couldn't get them to budge...didn't want to take the chance of damaging them any more than they already were.

VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards.
