This message was in another group I'm in, looks like trading community will be affected by this. Has this happened to anyone yet?
"Someone in one of the groups to which I belong mentioned some changes to
USPS 1st class shipping requirements the other day. Having been more than a
little distracted recently, I can't remember which. Anyway, I verified the
changes with my friendly neighborhood USPS clerk this morning.
She verified that the allowable weight limit for packages dropped into
mailboxes has been lowered from 13 oz. to 10 oz. Packages weighing more
than 10 oz. must be handed to a postal employee, whether picked up by your
local carrier or dropped off at the counter. Packages over 10 oz. that are
dropped in a mailbox are supposed to be returned to the sender and noted.
It's likely that your local mailbox hasn't had the information sticker
updated yet, so please be aware."
"I also learned today that any envelope containing anything rigid—like a toploader with cards inside—is now considered a parcel, regardless of weight."
