Family1 here. I am in need of someone who is really good with a computer. I would like to start a petition toward the Major manufacturers of Sportscards. We now have fewer Companies producing and a million more sets and color parallels, I believe that many of us are losing interest in trying to chase down these 30-40 subsets, and on TOP of that, there are no identifying codes on the cards to let you what card is what. (I'm old and colorblind) I believe in the power of numbers. If we were to post on as many forums as possible maybe we could get their attention. What are everyone's thoughts? Sorry

They're making what sells, no matter who likes it or doesn't.

if people buy its going to sell and they will keep doing it.. if anything, you have a better chance with a class action against redemption cards. If the person doesn't sign on the spot then it shouldn't be included as an auto.. etc etc many cases where they are never redeemed or as a investor lost value by the time its recieved.

If they went down to the base set and a few inserts, they would be out of business. No law says you have to have all they make. As far as recommending what the card is, name of insert or parallel, I am for that.

i remember struggling to figure out what cards were refractors back in the day. Now you have 20 different panini prism variations in basketball it seems. Unless there is a different SN per color I struggle even more today. Hell some of the colors Crayola never heard of so how am I suppose to know lol

Anybody remember the old Pacific sets with the card number in a circle with the card set and insert name? I didn't appreciate it at the time but going back through my collection it sure makes it easy to find the set on here.

Do I agree with you? Yes.
Do I think a petition would do any good? No.
There are buyers out there willing to invest a ton of cash in the current collecting concepts so they will keep churning it out. My only advice would be if you don't like what they are making today, spend your money on older product.

It's pretty much the old "supply and demand" scenario. As the demand goes so does the supply and from there it's just a vicious circle. Add to that there are companies making a ton of money... little or no chance of changing that aspect at least for the present.

I'll pile on. Buy what you like. Do not buy what you do not like. Do not let the manufacturers dictate what you consider to be complete set or what you think you need. If everyone does that, then the manufacturers will only make what sells. This stuff apparently sells.
But it doesn't sell to ME!
