Why were so many of the late 70's and early 80's basketball cards photographed in Baltimore? It's a little crazy actually.

Do you mean because the opposing team in so many of them is the Washington Bullets? I wonder if that's where the photographer lived??

If you look at mid 80s Topps/OPC baseball you can tell (well I can because I knew the stadium so well) that a great majority of the pictures come from Tiger Stadium for AL teams. Also late 70s and early 80s hockey are pretty much all pictures from Washington. The baseball pics aside, the era of late 70s to mid 80s in hockey and basketball (with Baltimore and Washington so close) were probably all from the same photographer.

Could be but you would think that they would want a little variety.

Like EP said, it's because that's where the photographer was based. The photographer doesn't go to the teams, the teams come to the photographer.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

Indeed. For hockey cards, it was often done in the D.C. .

A buddy of mine, in NJ, was a freelance photog for the companies in the 70s and 80s. He shot in Philly and NYC and Florida. Yup, the teams came to him. I bought around 1200 off him. Sold most but still have the HOFers and stars.
