I was looking at 2005 Topps Updates & Highlights - Gold. There are only 4 cards there with the back showing. Three have the seq. #'d 2005 on the back. One does not. One also has next to the name, "SN2005". Just what is correct here? Should all that have a serial number have "SN2005" next to the name? Should the card without the serial number even be there? I have one to add which happens to be #'d 2005/2005. Thanks

You are correct. The Gold are supposed to be SN2005. So that one back image is incorrect. Let me know if you don't have Permissions to edit all the Notes at once.
I love either the first (1/2005) or last (2005/2005) SN cards. Lucky dog.

Do you have the (Edit) next to the Insert Set in the listings? If you do, you can edit all Notes at once. Be careful though, it's not as clear and straightforward as it should be.

Your posting with the Ortiz card reminds of this. Shouldn't those 3 cards with no numbers be called promos, to differentiate between the ad cards and actual insert sets? It seems as if I had seen it that way on a few sets. I think it would also be nice to consistantly not have items such as the 3 "inserts" show up in the base checklist. I see it done this way sometimes, and sometimes not. I do understand that with so many people being able to edit that inconsistancies will crop up. Kudo's to the guys in the trenches who work on these things tirelessly. I also notice sometimes the gold sets are in inserts listing, and sometimes listed under parallels, which I believe should be the case.

I know that about a year ago, the new option of "Single Card Insert" was created for cards like those three, to differentiate them from insert "Sets" in the overview list, and from Promos, which these aren't. Some sets probably didn't get switched when this option was created. I'm not sure whether it's "Insert" or "Promo" that shows up at the end of base checklists, but I know it does throw off completion percentages in many cases if the wrong one is used. I have sets that are 101% complete, and also it is possible to have a set showing 100% and still be missing a base card if you have the odd insert/promo checked off. I can't imagine how hard it is for the Admin/Admins to stay on top of these things. I just try to report them when they affect a set that I have. I think it is probably a full time job for Admin just dealing with the things I report, let alone all the other members!!!

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

You and me both, brother! I'm sure Admin cried "Hallelujah" when I got my Level 8.

I'm still well short of the three years, and the 25,000 points, so I still have a while to go to get level 8.
