There's another aspect of my method that I forgot to mention originally.  Once a parallel set is complete, if I decide to separate it from the others I just have to rearrange whole pages.  It doesn't require any cards to be moved from slot to slot or page to page.

In 2014 I decided to try and get all the parallels of one of the Royals card.  I don't remember how many there were 13-14?  I picked Alex Gordon because he had a sparkle variation.  I managed to get all except the Pink- SN 50? and the Platinum- SN 1.  I have them in 2 9 pocket pages.  They look pretty cool altogether.

If anyone ever runs across a 2014 Pink, Alex Gordon #97 please let me know.  

Something like that scan, putting all the cards together by card number is good but it really depends on how many versions there are. I was thinking of doing that with my 2010-11 Certified hockey set, but the problem for me then becomes that there are too many versions of the base design to do it that way. So I just group it by the card type instead, especially since there are jersey versions of the base set design. I don't like putting the jersey cards in the same pages as the regular size cards.
