Sportlots does offer regular and budget shipping. When I go cheap and select budget I pretty much assume I'm getting a PWE. The fees are so high there you almost have to make your money with shipping if someone orders like 2 common cards otherwise you end up paying them to buy your cards. I'm not a fan of those flimsy protectors unless they are in a penny sleeve also along with some cardboard in a bubble envelope.

I'm not a fan of those so-called card savers either. They provide no real protection for the cards and when I get them with the card jammed really far in it usually cuts my finger on removing the card. The only time I ever use them is when I have a card too large to fit in a top loader. That's pretty rare to have a card too big for standard size but not "tall-boy" size, which is too tall to fit in a saver. Even on the very, very rare instance when I use one, I make sure it is well protected so the card is not damaged.
I NEVER use tape on card mailings. If I only have a couple of cards to sent I put them in top loaders and then that goes into a team bag. If I have a larger trade, I use one of those $5 if it fits it ships boxes the USPS gives you for free. I plan to drop three of those boxes in the mail today in fact, once I finish putting the cards together for each person.

VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards. The people at my post office said that you can write "non-machinable" on it and it will still go though the machine unless you pay extra and they mark it. I have had no problems sending 1-3 cards in a PWE. If you try 4 cards, they had better be thin. Spaz's idea of using Christmas cards is one that I use. I once received one card in a top loader and the loader was cracked and dug into the card after it went under the rollers. Would have been better in a simple plastic sleeve at least that does not crack.. All depends on the value of the cards sent. I try to keep postage low, who wants to pay $2.50 for $1 worth of cards. Anything valued over $5, I use bubble mailers. Less than that, if it is damaged, I give a full refund, no problem.

I'm ignorant...what's PWE? I understand the concept, just not the abbreviation!

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

Thanx! I shoulda figured it out...ha! I too am ticked by ebay sellers charging $2.50/$3 for postage then sending one or two cards in a PWE...then when I comment about it they either 1) give ME a negative feedback or 2) message me some snarky comment like "do you think my gas and my time is free?"!

I know but sometimes even when ordering for the higher priced "regular" shipping some sellers use only PWE.Just like most Ebay sellers many Sportlot sellers just DO NOT CARE about how they ship the cards out just as long as they are shipping them out and getting their money.
