I bought " a lot " of vintage cards at auction, with the COMPLETE understanding that the cards were gradable from poor / fair to near mint / mint......My question.......What should I do with the fair / poor cards ? I dont want them in my pc...I just really hate to toss them as well......

Define "vintage." I can't believe that there aren't people on this site who would be happy to have them. Might even pay a small amount. Many people prefer something over nothing. Or like filler cards. Give it a shot.

I agree, if they are older than junk wax era (or even from that time) people do like them until they can upgrade to a better version. I would never toss cards unless they were truly unsaveable (I have a few water damaged ones I still can't get myself to toss), so at the worst, find someone on here who is interested or maybe donate to a childrens hospital or something. It they are truly vintage like from the 50's and 60's maybe even donate them to a retirement village or nursing home. I'm sure some people would like to see some cards from the good old days no matter the shape they are in.

I collect low-grade vintage baseball from the '60s back. I'd pay 5%-10% BV for cards that I need, and will accept low-grade cards that I don't need through the '70s.

I looked at your collection, and you have cards going back to 1939, covering almost every year, so your definition of Vintage is surely quite accurate. Maybe put them on your for sale/trade list here on the site and announce your intentions here in the forum once they are in. There is a buy/sell/trade section specifically for that sort of thing once you are ready to move them. You might have something a team collector is desperately in need of!

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

To aide this discussion, I will lst the cards and the issue;
1951 Bowman #185 - crease
1953 Topps #59 - faded front, spots on the back
1954 Bowman # 3, 15,31 - all creased
1956 Topps # 174 White Back - creased
I define vintage as anything prior to 1980.
Thanks for the help, and Id love to hear from more of you :)

I can give the 1954 Topps #3 Monte Irvin a good home.
-------------------------------
Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

In that case I can give 1954 Bowman #15 and #31 a good home.
