Not trying to cause any trouble here but......... Since we have variations because a period is one space over on the copyrigh what about the "gold" on the 93 Topps baseball. Some have a yellowish gold, others are a more bronze gold. It is so easy to see the difference. Go ahead, have at it.

Could it be just a difference in scan quality or are you looking at the physical cards?

Looking at the physical cards. Good idea though, I will see if it shows when scanning.

It's not the depth of foil, it is a different color foil. Billy, I'll send you a couple and then you decide.

The foil can also turn colors over time, or oxidize depending on what they are exposed to.

Nice! Collectors can make their own variations.
I'm going to marinate a complete set of 1991 Fleer in tomato juice in an attempt to create orange-bordered parallels.

Yes they do. Oxidizing, more commonly referred to as "tarnish" on precious metals. There's not enough gold in the leaf to keep it from tarnishing. Who knows exactly what gold leaf alloy was used in the early 1990s.
The discolored early 1990s foils I have look tarnished to me. This could be the case with NJDevils' cards.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.
