I have a medium size collection and am working on the database of cards. I am wanting to scan my cards for this site, and am wondering what is the best scanner to use for this site. I am looking for something quick and easy. Has anyone ever used one of those business card scanners? Is there a double sided scanner that works well? |

Thought about those business card scanners myself. Thing that keeps me away from those is corner dings... Can't say for sure they would, but it's not likely they'd have a failsafe to keep it from happening. I have two Canon Pixma all in ones and they've seemed to work out great. had trouble with my old Kodak trying to tell me that edges didn't exist so I would probably stay clear of the.. oh wait, they defunct. Wonder why... O_o

I would love the scanner Burbank sportscards uses in their business. Follow this video link and it is about 6:00 into the video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mi0IA9C0erY. It looks like a Fujitsu but I cannot find it on their web site. I used an old HP all-in-one but it took too long for what I had to scan. I have an extensive Cincinnati Reds collection to add someday. |

Did some more digging. The scanner is a Fujitsu model fi-6130Z. |

Ohhhh, I want that scanner from the video.
On another note, I lived in Burbank CA two years and can't place that shop. In fact, I put its address and my old address into Google maps, and I lived 1.4 miles (four minutes) away. Although the video says this is their 3rd location, so maybe they weren't in that spot when I lived there from 2003-05. I guess I was pretty loyal to a different shop in downtown Burbank though, so I wouldn't have been looking for this place. And I quit collecting in 2004. But I still can't believe I didn't know this place was there until recently when I bought some cards from them online. Weird.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster. |

I agree with the
Burbank comments.
I recently
purchased some
cards from them
online and the
scans looked as
good as the cards.

I use a Canon LiDE
210 for the
majority of my
scans. It captures
everything except
neons and deep
cars, which I use
one of two Epsons I
have for that. The
Canon is not made
very well, though-
the lid broke off
and is currently
held on by tape. I
have only had it
for a few months
longer than a year,
but it still works
fine. I've done
many thousands of
scans on it
already, I average
about 120 scans a
week, or more.

VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards.
