If there was someone that lived near me I would go in on it with them. Maybe I can find a local shop has one that would let me use it. Will be lookng into that as well.

My work place has this scanner.
Fujitsu ScanSnap iX500 Scanner for PC and Mac.
I talked with my co-worker about letting me run some cards through it to see if it would work WITHOUT damaging the cards. So I ran 10 cards through the scanner and WOW is all I can say. Front and back scans really fast already cropped. I think I am going to invest in one so that I can start scanning my collect without having to flip the cards and crop.
Going to sell some of my cards and figured this is better for time management. Also for insurance purposes.

My HP Envy 4500 is my third HP and although not the greatest scans, the prices sure are hard to beat (if you stay away from a lot of printing and buying their ink cartridges)! As far as the slow scan speed, I actually enjoy my cards more that way and take time to read the facts on them as I scan, so I have no interest in speeding up my scan time. Will I ever get all my cards in the system with scans...not by myself, but at the pace y'all are going, they'll be in there eventually!

It seems everyone is overlooking something...it's NOT the hardware but the software that makes the difference. Nowadays, even the cheapest, low-end scanners can scan at 300-600 dpi. But your image results are only as good as your software. And better software means more image settings, adjustments, autocropping, etc. I use ArcSoft Photo Studio 6 with my scanner. I know there's even better out there, but it suits my purposes and does an excellent job with cards.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

Bumping this old post up because it has the link to that video I just referenced.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

I'm partial to the Epson V600, but would recommend any that use CCD technology over CIS. You'll notice a huge difference when scanning thicker items, like graded cards. Looks like you can get an Epson V370 for just over $100 delivered via Amazon.

Depends; I have a cheapy Canon that I use for Mystery cards etc, some quick scans. But my preference is my 370. And I use my ADF 510 for mass scans, eBay, Kronocard etc.
