Spaz we were 28C (feeling like 33) for most of last week, our hottest week of the year. Been a odd summer here, way more rain than normal (at about 18" to date) and only now has it gotten summer like. We did have some beautiful days camping but this past week was by far the hottest (and driest - humidity is finally lower). But that does not stop the fact that they have snow in the forcast for Alberta this morning .............. go figure. =)

Were all good, been outside grilling, done some cleanup. My inlaws house wont be able to live there for awhile as theres no power and flooding. Cant use water as the septic tank is under 2ft of water so going to be awhile so we have all the family at our house. Bit overcrowded, but it will be like a party everyday. Grilling and beer lol.

Reading all about you guys sure makes me glad I live in Southern California. It's been 95º or so for about 2 months now and beautiful almost every day. A little over cast today but still 90º outside. I can't even imagine what it would be like to go through something like a hurricane or even tornados for that matter. I do know about earthquakes though, but it's been years since we have had one of those that was of any magnitude. (Watch, now that I've said that we will have one.) I feel for you all and it's good to hear you guys are all okay.

It's been a really mild summer here, at least for the past month or 2. We haven't hit 90F (32C) for at least a month. Usually we are above or near that daily from mid-August to mid-September. Our worst weeks were in mid-July this year. I'm really glad our temps have been way down for the last 2 weeks though. With all the moisture around from the 2 hurricanes, humidity would have been killer if we were at higher temps. I am fine with highs being in the 70's to mid 80's, especially when the humidity is low. I really hope to not even think about snow in the forecast until January, maybe around Christmas/Boxing Day but hopefully no sooner than that!

That doesn't sound comfortable to us in the southeast. That sounds oppressive! Mostly b/c we have to deal with humidity that pushes that 95 into feeling like 105-110. Even without a high moisture content, I don't like anything over 90.
I've been through more than a dozen tropical storms of various strengths and sizes in my life and one tornado that I was practically inside it. I've also felt an earthquake once though. They are pretty rare on the east coast, but they do happen. It was small from my location about 150 miles from the epicenter, but I felt it. It was the one several years ago in northern VA that did structural damage in that area and Washington DC. I think it was a 3-point-something, but I felt it down here. I was lying in my bed watching TV and the bed started moving side to side. It was freaky but I immediately knew what it was. I ran to the mancave and turned on The Weather Channel and got my confirmation that it was an earthquake. There wasn't really any damage here but that was freaky b/c it was completely unexpected. I think I'd rather have the notice and prep-time for a hurricane than the unexpected trembling of the ground from an earthquake.

A few days ago I ordered some cards on sportlots. Not all the sellers have marked their part of my order as "shipped" yet. I did receive on message from a seller who said he had been hit by Irma. Fortunately it seems all his people are OK. He said the only "real" damage was losing power, as well as the post office losing power. He estimated to ship his part out over the weekend and apologized for being late in filling the order. He normally tries to ship out the same day as the order is received. I have 3 or 4 other dealers that haven't checked in yet on my order (59 cards total and about 16 dealers). I wonder if any others are somewhere in the areas that were hit by Irma.
Other than saving the PWEs or bubble mailers that Sportlots sellers use when you order from them, I don't know of any other way to know where they actually are located. I often have ordered from SL sellers who are in Canada and wonder why it takes a while to get the order then realize it is because they are in Canada it took soo long.

I bought a 7-day Disney Cruise departing 9 Sep for my wife's birthday back in July and gave it to her on Sep 4th, . She was very excited, but the following evening she got the word that it was cancelled due to Irma. I had a very sad Mouseketeer on my hands.

Ouch. At least they took the correct precaution under the circumstances. Hopefully they will honor refrunds. I did a quick search and it looks like Disney's policy is to refund the cost of the trip.

I could not deal with the heat you are dealing with Teresa. Anything over 75 and I have trouble breathing. I have cousins in California and it got to 115 degrees there this past week. I would never leave my A/C then. The warmest I've ever experienced here in NY is 106 with 90% humidity. That was brutal...I'd much rather have the winter, I find it comfortable when it's 40 degrees out.

VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards.
