To all, is it so difficult in today's world to respond to someone else's message or trade proposal that some members simply ignore them? Trades can simply be declined not even having to leave a message. Answering a message to say not interested only takes a minute or two. Difficult? Not!
For those of you who lack the courtesy to do this simple gesture, is that how you are at work when co-workers or other employees in your company, and not in your immediate chain of command, send you a message requesting a simple answer? You ignore it? Makes me wonder what makes you this way, especially on a site like this where we are all supposed to be enjoying a hobby / passion we love.
I am not speaking of people who have not logged in on this site for months. I have some who were on almost every day for the last month+. I have one who initiated a trade proposal and never got back to me when I countered suggesting we expand the trade to make it more economical in shipping. At least the one member who suggested a very one-sided trade in his favour answered me with a "Decline" and a message explaining why, when I countered to balance out the trade more equitably.
Thankfully there are many more polite, willing-to-trade members on here than those who can't be polite outside their own little bubble.
Sorry for the little rant but this has been building up for at least six months.

Sorry to hear that. No one should ever ignore anyone who is merely trying to connect to further their pursuits in the hobby while also potentially helping someone further their own.
I reached out to a person for the 1st time ever today regarding a possible trade and got a response within minutes with a generous offer and a few different messages talking me through the process.
That person was Mihome316, and I am very happy the first impression was such a favorable one as it left me encouraged to try it more often.

Most people do respond in a timely fashion. And yes, there are rude people everywhere, here, on the roads, in person, at work. Don't let them ruin your day.

I've got a whole pile of withdrawn trades that I've offered and waited with no response from members who are
Active. Sometimes I offer again thinking that they might have missed it but same result.

I have not gotten much action here yet. (I have a large but tough want list) The few messages have all been pos. Others site I have had this happening all the time I even stop going to a couple of them, because of it. Pull a 100s cards and send lists and get back a ask Yes i want them. Then never heard back. I even send out messages stating "Do I drop the ball on this trade?" have to put them all back handling cards a lot is not good on them.

I have seen this issue as well.
because of this, before pulling cards, I usually send a PM to a person asking if they have time for a trade and what in general (or a specific card) I have for their list.
if I do not get a reply to that I move on to somenone else
I do understand that life gets busy sometimes, but too busy to reply?
I have had to tell folks that I have too many trades going on this week, but will get to you next week, and that did not take very long.

When you have master list of cards you need and for sell/trade. Like here it is easier. If you do not have a list or it is not updated all the time it becomes a problem.. One thing is that when I get more cards I want to sell/trade posted here. It will be easier as I have been pointing to this site to look at my wants and sell/trade list even though I have a lot more cards to add.

I always try and sent a message explaining why I declined a trade. And if i miis one i will usually message the person back to see if they still want to trade. I hardly decline a trade. I would be nice if everyone atleast tells you why they declined the trade. It would help people out when they go and trade with another member on here.

The ones that get me are the ones that you take the time to get together a trade and you don't hear from them at all. Then you look at their feedback and see that they have been trading with other members, but won't even answer you about your offer. To me that's kind of rude and of course I have to go there about it maybe being because I'm female and not one of the guys. Which it probably isn't about, I hope. :>

I totally agree with manners. I offered a trade of football some time ago, I thought it was OK. The member flat out declined it, not even countering it. I asked and his response was it was way off lopsided as far as book value. So why not counter? I'm not out to screw anybody over, just trying to enjoy collecting. So now, it appears I was unfriended. Gee, let me get the tissue. Yes, I did get an answer. But it doesn't take much effort to take an extra step to get a trade going. I didn't let that rotten experience ruin this for me, but imagine a new collector here dealing with that.
