#2. A few thoughts as I toured our site again, looking at links I never had before. One area, each opening set page, there are so many good references there, however I would like to suggest the following:

> I've noticed we have many new members recently that may have valued input. Actually all of us may have valued input. Alot require special permission, therefore important set/and or/card info gets lost in our collective brains.

> I was thinking, at the end of the each set scroll, there is an area for User Comments, Trivia, Videos etc. It might be extremely valuable to have something like ADDITIONAL SET NOTES and ADDITIONAL CARD NOTES. This may help to explain some recent postings on factory set and HC sets, Card fronts and backs [as in blank or wrong], ERRs/VARs and much much more. As a member checks a set, they can then scroll down and read more about the set and cards within. 

> To keep it legit as possible each contributor would post by member name and date.

I don't know about everybody else, but I feel I have Set/Card notes that would be helpful to others and expand the database.

I would like to hear about your suggestions and comments to this idea before asking ADMIN.

I read your post this morning and took time to think about it.It is something I have wished to see for a while.  I had thought "Release Notes" would help but it has not been used as much as it could be. But I think what you are suggesting would not be suitable in that category.

I think adding another category as you have suggested might be the answer. It would be a place to enter info that can be useful to collectors - one that comes to mind right away are mis-numbered cards.

Admin will most likely pick up on this suggestion but an email direct to them would ensure that it gets to them.

I'm new to the site... and I add tidbits of information in the Comments section.   I assume if sombody is seriously interested in a specific set, then they're probably going to look at its comments.   However, if a set does get alot of general discussion, then it probably would be difficult to sift through all the opinions to find only factual details.  
 

Mainly because members are putting "Release Note" info in "Comments" and "Trivia" sections.  Release Notes are controlled by Admin, they review submissions for accuracy.  Comments and Trivia are not controlled.  Members can put whatever they want in those sections, factual or not.

I think one solution would be to start utilizing what's already in place.

I must be looking in the wrong place.  Where should I go to submit a "release note" ?  

When I browse to a set, I don't see anything referring to that option on the Overview page.  

 

My main wish, which I've already discussed with admin, is a simplified way to add a "series 2" to checklists that are multi releases. Also to make it possible to mass edit the notes on a base checklist, the same as we can with an insert list, currently the notes must be set in the submission, but if you are using the "text plus..." option you can only set notes for the entire list, which means adding the RC, MEM, AU, SN...ect one by one later

Admin has implemented a way to add another series to a checklist - it just has to be requested for the set.

File an inaccuracy report for the base sets and Admin will do the mass update. There is a concern that one wrong click and a large base set could be compromised. (Just be specific in the report like Cards 100-125 should hve "RC, AU, SN125".) It's a very valid concern and as much as I would like to see even more things opened to the general membership, I'm ok with keeping some things with Admin.

A message to Admin, or an Inaccuracy Report. Though a message would be quicker.  Even Level 8's can't directly enter Release Notes, only submit them to Admin through a set edit.
