I noticed it in the last few days. If I click on a player that is playing or manager that is managing it lists thier current team.  It will have name then birthdate then current team.

Not sure, but I like it.  I wonder if they could also do an inactive, retired, or last season played field at some point to distinguish between current and historical players.  With my luck it already does and I just sound foolish.

It was added to the site several years ago, but just added to the player's profile about a month ago. Many of the teams listed are from when the feature was created circa 2013. I'm slowly correcting the NBA listings, when I come across them and have the time.

I have taken it upon myself to make sure the Phoenix Suns and Arizona Diamondbacks rosters remain up to date.  

For baseball since there are so many minor leaguers, I am just keeping it as the 40 man roster. Someone added the manager too and that makes sense.
