Despite the recent positive feedback on my profile page, I want to confess that I've been a lousy trade partner. This evening I've been searching for missing cards that I agreed to trade and it is downright embarrassing that I have consistently been missing cards on deals lately. I didn't find the cards. It's happened sporadically over the two years I've been trading, but recently it's become more consistent and it bothers me to no end. I've sent emails to about four of you asking for an alternative resolution for missing cards. They are not high end cards, in fact, they're common stars, BUT, they're still missing.
Over the past few months I've been keeping inventories in Texas and New Jersey, and that's been part of my problem. So, after I make amends to SetShot68, Sandyrusty, AndyRoy, and Capper14, I will not trade until I consolidate all my cards here in Texas. I've been transporting them as I fly back home every other week. This past Saturday I flew in with about 4K cards stuffed in my jacket. That's so that I avoid paying for extra bags. I've still got about 8-10 thousand more cards to move, but I have several trips scheduled back and forth so I'm estimating I'll have all my cards home by the beginning of December, possibly by mid-November and I can begin trading again soon after.

I have had a struggle with a few cards lately that I either remember trading a while back or that i sold on ebay or sports lots, that i never removed or got cleared in the trade.
Frusterating, because most likely it is my fault.

Any funny looks from TSA for having a coat stuffed with sports cards?

Funny you should ask. Not really funny, but I get stopped everytime, and I've been traveling to NJ and transporting cards back home since probably June. The jacket just gets x-rayed, but the bag always gets pulled and they open up the boxes. One time the lady tried to open an 800-count box upside down. She stopped when I excitedly said, "No!" She was friendly and understood, but this last time I tried explaining to a different lady how to open the box and she didn't want to hear it.
But, yes, I get stopped everytime. This last time another agent asked me if I buy each card separately or all the cards together. I tried to explain PC vs set buying, but she didn't understand.

I'm with you on this one Commish.....happens to me ALL the time. I'm not sure I would ever trade, if I banked on total consolidation. I keep trying! ~BOB~

I agree when it's an occasional mess up, but it got too consistent for my taste. What got me in a bind is not so much my travels, it was my purchases while traveling and trying to maintain two inventories in different states. My plan is on track, and if I do make purchases in NJ it'll be something I can easily bring back.

Its bound to happen when keeping thousands of cards organized. Sometimes they slip into the wrong box or stack and get filed away in error. I always make a note of what was missing and the partner involved and have sent some afterwards when I find them even if I sent a substitute in the deal. It always seems like its the least valuable most common ones that end up missing too.

I'm in the process of a trade (not on here) that I'm having a difficult time finding the 3 cards I'm supposed to send. Between that and not finding some cards on the last few orders I've had from Sportlots, I've finally decided to do a full inventory and reorganize my collection. Ugh. It's long overdue, but it's probably going to take me weeks.

Turning off trading because my collection is in complete disarray after moving and I don't know when I can get it organized.

Sometimes after having sent a few cards via the "pay it forward" method IU remember to remove them and ..well.. other times it seems I must have too much else on my miind at the moment and simply forget thus when I go to actually find that card(s) , guess what there just not there.

I too have cards in two locations. And had a couple of missing cards as well. I have changed my methods and will not hit accept unless I have first checked that all are in hand, pulled or not.
