I know this has been said before, so I apologize for being a bit lazy. I bought several Ohio State basketball and hockey team set cards from the local card show last month, but can’t find a full checklist for most of the sets. How hard is it to add cards after a checklist has been initially submitted? I want to put the ones that I have, but when I find more cards or a full checklist, I want to be able to add them along. Can I do that?

If you’re interested, I am having trouble finding 2001-02 (Dials freshman year), 2005-06 (Dials senior year) and 2007-08 (Turner and Koufos freshman year) for men’s hoops along with 2006-07 and 2007-08 women’s hoops

It is MUCH easier to add all cards at once than it is to piece together the list later. Adding just the ones you have would mean that all other cards have to be entered one at a time and in the right spot in the CL. I would advise against doing that here! A better option would be to type up your list on your computer and add to it as you find the cards. THEN you can add the complete CL here with no extra work needed by anyone.

My concern is that I may never find a complete checklist for these sets, and the sets are at most only 15 cards total anyway. I totally get it if the set is one of the large base sets, but that’s not the case here. Does that change the mind? I don’t have a separate computer collection list like a lot of you; tcdb is my only source of my collection

Thanks! I’ve got the permissions to add checklists, and have done so for many of the Buckeye team sets that I can find the full list. I have searched far and wide for the sets that aren’t on here yet, including Beckett and cardboard connections and a lot of those type sites. I think what I will probably do is upload an image and what I have so far in the mystery section, along with the roster from that particular season, and see if anyone here has any knowledge of other cards (mascot, season review, title card, etc) and then as you suggest go to the admin for final approval. Thanks for your help!

I would suggest an alternative to CaD's step 4;
Add the set to the database. Not a checklist, mind you, just an entry for the name of the set. It will then appear on the list of sets needing checklists and someone who comes along later will be able to add it. Then, you can go to the set's page and click on the "Forum" link in the sidebar and start a disscussion thread about that set. There you can post the part of the checlist that you know and others can respond with any additional information they have. This way, the checklist information can be collected over time,, in a way that is connected to the set entry, without taking extra work in the actual database checklist.
