Please remember to check the set Glossary when you change existing Notes and remove any obsolete or erroneous entries. For example, if you change MG to MGR for a manager's card, the old MG Note remains in the Glossary until it is manually deleted. Likewise, if you make an error when adding Notes, you might create an entry that needs to be removed from the Glossary, like AUSN10 that stays in the Glossary even after you correct the Notes to read AU, SN10. While many of these phantom Notes have been cleared from the master Glossary, they can be hard to find later, so it is always a good idea to double check when editing a set.
Thanks

Ditto to that, HutNut! I sure hope this reply wasn't about me b/c I forgot to do one of those steps. I've messed with a few notes in the past few weeks. Most of mine were Note 2 though. I'm really just bumping this one up to get more views on it though.

It's really not directed towards anyone in particular; it's just something I see quite a bit while cleaning up entries in the master Glossary. For example, when I started working on "SN" without an attached number there were almost 1172 sets listed, and 248 of those were blank entries where someone had already added the numbers but did not remove the SN Note, and a few more had other errors like SNSN10 or SN100100 that were pretty easy to spot. Now that those are gone it's easier to focus on the sets actually needing info, and we're currently down to 881.
Thanks

Thank for the reminder
I came across some for minor league team sets Milwaukee Brewers where they had the MAN and I changed to MGR and some had COACH but left them. I was changing the team links as they were linked to Minor legue team from 1902 to 1952 not present day club

Robert “It breaks your heart. It is designed to break your heart. The game begins in the spring, when everything else begins again, and it blossoms in the summer, filling the afternoons and evenings, and then as soon as the chill rains come, it stops and leaves you to face the fall alone. You count on it, rely on it to buffer the passage of time, to keep the memory of sunshine and high skies alive, and then just when the days are all twilight, when you need it most, it stops. Today, October 2, a Sunday of rain and broken branches and leaf-clogged drains and slick streets, it stopped and summer was gone.” ― A. Bartlett Giamatti robertkimble.us/tradingcards

Is there a list of glossary terms that are accepted already? For example, when I started filling out sets I would lable a mascot as 'MASC' and fould out later that 'MAS' was the already accecpted term. I know some I'll have to define myself, but I feel like I'm defining common things that are already in a system. Thanks!

There are a couple documents here you can review: https://www.tradingcarddb.com/FAQ.cfm?ITEM=Notes#2
"THE List" shows ones that are the ideal usage and in many cases what Admin now has as "predefined" Notes (like whenever RC is used, it's automatically defined inthe set's Glossary as "Rookie Card", there are others that do that too.)
Thank you for being concientious about making the listings consistent with others on the site. It's appreciated by those who worked very hard on compiling the rules and guidelines (and reigning in what was already out there).

I came across these 2 entries 1983 Donruss 639b and 639c which are both noted as COR but each have different color borders red & green. Im thinking the Note field should be changed to COR, VAR for each one and the note 2 field changed to.
COR, VAR: Angels in glove, red border... and green border for the c variation.
or is a format like this desired in note 2 field? I looked and did not see a reference to multiple notes like this
COR: Angels in glove, VAR: Red border or green for the c
This is the current notes...
#639 - Ron Jackson COR - California Angels
COR: Angels in glove, red border

Ed, preferred way is:
COR: [explanation]; VAR: [explanation]
Semicolon separating them.
Edit - and yes, they should have both notes in the Note field.
