How does the In Memoriam get updated? Have seen atlehics who have passed with cards not posted as well as scans of cards added but no photo shown, is there a way to add to this?

When a date of death is added to the subjects profile page it gets triggered and happens of few minutes later. The picture that shows is the example picture on the profile page. I have noticed that often members will change that image to a profile or close up if it is currently an "action" shot if one is available. If no profile example picture is selected as of yet the card image is blank.

Only the most recent five are shown based on the date of death. Garcia did not have a profile sample card selected. I'm not sure what Level is needed to select a sample card for a person's profile. I selected the only card image available.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

After an image is selected it takes a few minutes for the site to show it....don't know why but it is not immediate. I see the image for Garcia now.

Along the same lines, I'm kind of surprised PIDs aren't generated once a new name is listed. I was looking for a card of the late Houston Astro broadcaster Gene Elston, and couldn't find his name listed. So in a Google search a card of his popped up from being in an autograph set that's is not only on here, but there is a scan of Elston's card on here!

Automatic PID generation would be problematic. If the site did that then multiple PIDs that do not exist would be created. If somebody uploaded a checklist and a name was misspelled a new PID that is useless would exist. If you provide a link in a response to this message I can update and create the PID for Elston on the card's page.

Ah! Right, I see the point.
I created the Gene Elston page already.

Garcia's scan was not posted when his death was recorded. I always check and fix if possible when I see one without an image.
As for the people listed without a PID that is something that we collectively are working on. I know I put some effort into making sure everyone with w racing card had a PID, started basketball but got distracted and didn't finish. The Database itself is a living entity, still in progress and evolving.
If you spot a set missing PID and don't have the ability to fix it yourself, shoot me a message. I will take care of it, I enjoy creating PID for those who need them.

VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards.
