Sweet find, Bob! When I was in High School about 25 years ago, I was one of the Library Assistants working on transferring our Dewey Decimal card records to digital records on computers. The library still had some old wooden card cabinets with a few newer metal ones. I thought that any of them would be cool for storing sports cards. But the librarian told me that none of them would be dealt with until the library was fully digitized and probably not until the library was moved into the new building that was planned as a library/media center. The inventory wasn't fully digitized until the school-year after I graduated and the new library wasn't completed and moved into until the start of the next school-year. I have no idea what happened to those old drawer systems, but I'd love to have them now. The school was opened in 1966 and I know the wooden ones were original to the opening of the school. They would be great collector pieces themselves now!
Whether now or when you're done, make sure to share some pics of it with us!
