Just a reminder on a couple of items I keep seeing happening.
1 - No double-posting images. If you upload an image to the wrong location and the correct location does not have the image, DO NOT post the image to both locations. Submit the inaccuracy report (IR) on the card where the faulty images are and in the report put the link for the card it belongs to (URL address of the cards's page). Admin does not have to get involved, images get moved.
2 - Scans people, scans! Only scans are allowed to be added for the site's card images. For mystery card forum posts, images embedded in posts, packaging images (when scans aren't feasible), and for personal images (collection images) anything goes. Scans ONLY for the regular card pages. I'm seeing a huge influx of photos being added. (And phone "scanning apps" are still photos, not scans.)
3 - IRs are NOT for asking questions. There about 10-12 members who work on IRs semi-regularly, and generally it's more like 5 or 6 who really do the bulk of it. An IR is to be used for informing us when there is an error in the database (add, modify, or delete). It is not to ask "Should this be done?" Ask on the forums, see what the members want or what is discussed there. There are probably 50-75 members who are on the forums regularly (maybe more!). You'll get a much better answer and you'll know exactly what will need to be done to fix the error (if there even was an error).

This is why I stopped and gave up on cropping and passing images. Too many photos & not scanned images. Too many crooked wtf are you even bothering? Did you not think the guidelines applied to you?? I would go through many pages to just find a few that passed the guidelines and found myself wasting time when I could be working on trades. What was a drag to me is some I could easily fix some but could not take them to fix and just repost for them under there name. A few seconded work form me and it would have been fine.
I am a paid artistes and would never post a crap image and when I do post an image. I take the time to get it right, straight and true and take the time to fix imperfections down to the single-pixel if needed. The trick is to nerve go too far and fix everything. You cross a line and it looks fake. But to many people are rushing it for the points they receive and make it a joke and I had to step away. I see they don't care so I don't either. Sad to say. The good thing is I get to post and pass my own images. Because I care what they look like. I take the time to get it right and good looking for the website. I've posted over 100,000 images of album cover on many websites including google music. I know that everyone here has seen my work somewhere.
The iPhone photo people don't get it and wonder why they fail. I would send them a message of the guideline and get the but, but replies. They failed to comprehend the guideline and I stopped doing it. It's not a surprise to see this post when the guidelines are not considered the law and many think they are above them and just keep pushing it and can't comprehend why they failed.
If there was a line to cross like 5 strikes your out for a week another 10 and your out for a month and so on to 25 and you're out for a year or something like that. Then the guideline would hold worth and the incoming images would improve. Give someone a line to shoot for and they will take it as a challenge and go for it. That is the people you want to make things better.
Everyone can try but few can do and only they get the badge and things will improve. Till then it's a crapshoot and you only have the triers, trying again and again not learning to do better and you're bogged down.
You don't get an A rating just for showing up to the class, You do have to do the work.

What is that behind you!?! Oh, It's me! Looking at the cards you have, That I want. :)

I've been working on cropping lately and for every 100 cards I approve there is at least 15-20 I deny for various reasons, usually crooked, but it gets frustrating knowing that these cards need scans but they were done wrong and wasted everyone's time. Like vrooomed said, the IR list is for when there is a problem. If you have a question or statement please take it to the forums.
A couple of things I would like to add to the IR issues.
1. If you ask for a checklist to be added, please include the checklist or a link to where someone can pull the checklist to add it. If I get a request for a missing set and no checklist I will close the IR.
2. If there is a problem with a specific card, please use the IR link on the card's page. Please don't say "Card# needs to be corrected..."
3. If there is a problem with a checklist, lets say it is a duplicate of another set, please include links to both sets.

I'm guilty of both, A) asking questions and, B) extremely slight crooked scans, sorry.
thought I was being helpful to the crowd sourced database. No more questons and no more scans.

I'm sorry for the first mistake. Yesterday I committed a pair of scans to the wrong card and to the right. I'll do it right in the future.
BTW, I always try to deliver quality scans, correctly cropped, scanned with 300dpi, removed dust/scratches. And I only scan cards from my own collection.
Regards, Michael

I don't know if this is a new automatic feature, but the other day I reported some obvious cards that were taken via photograph. When I went to submit them as needing removed due to that, I automatically received a messaged saying they've been tagged for better replacement instead.

This IS NOT what I was going after.
If you have questions, ask on the forums. Then if the database needs something changed because of the answer to that question, submit an IR.
If you're submitting sub-par scans, be better. Use a FREE software (PhotoScape) that will fix the crooked scans. There is zero reason to submit a crooked or poor scan for any reason at this point of time. The tools are readily available (even for free).
