I was sitting here and was wondering how long this site has but up and running? What is the history of the site? Looked in the about us section and it does not state when?
I for one became a member in 2008, visited off and on for a few years and life got in the way, came back a few years ago and check daily now. I did a quick search of the top 10 members and one was May 2008 everyone else was within the past 3-5 years. Would be a nice addition to the members directory to see when a person joined
Other interesting stats over 14K members but half are tracking there collections? Odd

Under profile there is "member since" notation as you must know by finding the 10 oldest. You want this also in the directory? or am I missing something.

There are a few other stats I would be interested in seeing.
1. # of members who logged on within the last 3 months, 6 months, 1 year.
2. # of members (collectors) by sport
3. # of members by age groups - <20, 20-30, 30-40, etc

I'm guessing that is the date the site went live, or pretty close to it.

Just think if the member directory could be expanded to add.
It has the below but if it could be added that would be cool.
= Points |
= Collection |
= Logged in Last 30 Days |
= Blog |
= Twitter |

Thanks, would be curious on the history of the site. How stable is the site? Is it in danger of just going away, bought by another site etc. In the WWW world you never know. Been on other sites and they just go away. I use to use the Card Collector until a few years ago when I was asking for some sets to be added and was told they prioritize adding sets to member who have annual subscriptions. Now they do not exist anymore.

If you look at this site (TCDB) through the Way Back Machine, it's somewhat interesting. The Way Back Machine is an internet archiving site that takes snapshots (mostly of the site's start page and not daily either - unless somewhat popular).
There are some postings for 2004-05, but they are GoDaddy sites and the first TCDB page to pop up was Jan, 19, 2008. Overall, there are 106 days archived there, mostly within the past four years.

I'm sure a lot of the initial users who signed up didn't see much growth early on and just never came back. The biggest growth here as far as the database goes has really been in the last 3-4 years. Anything before that, and it was fairly stagnant. I would love to see a graph showing total sets on the site by year to see if the upward curve is as steep as I'm thinking it is.

That's around when I discovered the site! :) I discovered it through a Google search because I wanted to get printable checklists for the Phillies cards (so I could see what I had and what I was missing). I had no idea what I was getting into. I didn't really do much on the site for the first few months. Just looked around. Read the forums. Figured out the functionality on my own (it's how I operate). It took me 10 months before I posted anything, and it was an idea to improve updating teams. I know we're still a long way away from having those done, but we'll get there. But to actually add to DaClyde's comment, the site really has improved and grown over the last 4 years. And it's not just 1 person (though I gotta hand it to Admin, they rock!), it's a nice group of people who care about the hobby who have come together to take Admin's dream or vision and run with it and make it the most comprehensive card site. Maybe we're there, maybe we're not, but we're always improving. I really like the improvements that have been made here and the increased functionality. We do make a great team.
