There does not have to be a numbering system for the buyback cards...Just use an alphebetical checklist...The problem is Topps doesn't release the names or number of cards being released...I wish that Topps would start this and make it easier to get the cards we want or need...whether you collect a team, a player or the complete set...This would also negate the theft that goes on on sites like Ebay by nefarious so-called collectors...

Personally, I add the card to my collection as if it is part of the original set it came from.  Then I scan my own front and upload that image to my collection so it will show up in my gallery with the Topps stamp

I have 7 of these that I honestly don't want.  How do I add to them to the checklist?  I have scans for the following:

1974 - 459 Cincinnati Reds TC - Bronze stamp

1986 Traded - 35T - Steve Farr (Royals) - Bronze stamp

1987 - 124 - Ray Fontenot (Twins) - Silver stamp

1988 - 433 - Bill Pecota (Royals) - Silver stamp

1988 - 716 - Lenn Sakata (Yankees) - Blue stamp

1989 - 462 - Jose Guzman (Rangers) - Bronze stamp

1990 - 371 - Jimmy Key (Blue Jays) - Bronze stamp

I also have from 2016 with the 65th Anniversary Stamp:

1978 - 565 - Jerry Koosman (Mets) - Black stamp

1987 - 420 - Will Clark (Giants) - Silver stamp

First off, would anyone here want to trade for them?  Otherwise, I will be adding them to eBay or Listia.

Second, I notice the 2017 set has a parallel set for 65th Stamp?  It doesn't have a checklist yet.  Is this a mistake?  Also, there are 2 single inserts labeled 1987 and 1990.  Were these meant to be for buybacks and they are mistakes?  The should probably be removed.

Lastly, I do see a lot of these buybacks on eBay and I'm shocked what some of them are selling for.  Since we see these exist, shouldn't we (someone) be adding them to the checklist?

I'm joining this discussion a bit late, so sorry if this has already been adressed above. I know that when variations exist (such as 1990 Topps Frank Thomas with the missing name on the front) that they can be considered two different cards with the same number, such as Card #123A and Card #123B. For these buybacks, couldn't they just be listed in this manner? In the case of these sorts of error variations, both cards do have the exact same number (in my example, #123) printed on the back of the card, so the only way to differentiate between them in a checklist would be to append the A or B after that number.

Thoughts??

Holy smokes Billy!  He has quite a list!  Should we add all of those into our checklist for 2015 and 2016 since we know they exist?
