As a countdown to the site's 10-year anniversary in January 2018, we’ll be going back year by year, and doing a retrospective highlighting contributions to the site. Below are some of the possible categories. If you can think of other possible ones or ideas, please post them in this thread. If there’s a way to determine a winner, it can be included.
Most points accumulated
Most scans added
Most checklists added
Most entries in the change log
Most trades completed
Rookie of the year
Most forum postings
New site feature of the year
This will be the schedule:
2008 – April 2017
2009 – May 2017
2010 – June 2017
2011 – July 2017
2012 – August 2017
2013 – September 2017
2014 – October 2017
2015 – November 2017
2016 – December 2017
2017 – January 2018
Each month, the winners in each category will be posted to the forums. Then after, it can become a tradition each January to look back at the previous 12-months like a yearly "awards show".

I absolutely love this idea. 10 years! Amazing! I wish I had gotten here sooner. This truly is my favorite website on the internet- moreso even than my own website.
May I suggest a Member of the Year award? To honor somebody who does a lot of things that don't necessarily show up in the statistics? If so I already know who I plan to nominate (not myself!)

VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards. Love the idea. Question: how will the subjective choices be made? Rookie of the Year, Member of the Year, if you take Billy's suggestion. Decided by the Admin? Membership vote? Gold Star Panel? Electoral College? Just curious. I'm content with Admin making the call. And will you issue a set of trading cards with the pictures and stats of each year's winners?
As always, thanks for this site.

Biggest trade of the year: the most cards swapped between 2 members.

Great ideas so far!
For the subjective ones, we could open up a ballot in December and have the members write in a candidate along with a few sentences of why you think that person is worthy of the award.
Another subjective one:

That one's REAL tough (Best blog written by a site member). I've enjoyed them all.
This is a realy nice idea. Best of luck to those making the decisions! A lot of great people here, all deserving of high praise.

I like this idea. I have a few thoughts:
Probably want to pre-run some of those queries. I suspect that Most Points and Most Scans will both be the same member as each other in most years. If in each year the two awards go to the same person is it worth having both of them?
It might be nice to have an honorable mention for each sport/category under each award. Seeing the size of each section in the database, it looks like any award for the 'most' anything in a given year wil likely go to a Baseball collector every time.
The award for change log entries would be nice to see in a retrospective of the first decade of the database, but it might not be a good one to offer up going forward. When I read that award name, the first thing I thought of was a Dilbert comic strip:
This tenth anniversary celebration should be fun!

Tom - edit it to read "most entries in the change log that doesn't fix your own mistakes."
