I was adding cards to my collection when I came across this card image.  The back image is the WRONG IMAGE! It is from the FD Signature series.  The blue stamp on the back is the difference!  Evident if you compare the five cards in the set and look at the parallel sets!

I could have just replaced the image with the correct one but I am tired of doing this, letting the member who loaded it in error keep the points. I find too many of these "errors", all too frequently by the same members. I know some just search images on the internet and upload them without actually owning the card.  If you are just about the points and are going to do this to increase your point total, make sure you put it in the correct image, front and back!

I have advised Admin of the inaccuracy.  The back image should be taken down and I will then upload the correct image that will match the other four cards in the set. But this takes time both for Admin who has to address the issue and for me as I have to go back and check to see that the image has been removed so that I can upload the correct version.  As usual, if you are not going to do it right, don't do it at all and save others the time!

I agree complely. There are a lot of people who care more about points than doing it right. Making a correct scan takes literally about 2 seconds more than a lousy scan, so the only possible answer is lazyness.

That also appears to be a minor league card tagged to a major league team, a major problem we have on here.

There are some repeat offenders when it comes to lousy or incorrect scans. I'm finding a lot that are cut off (more than just a little into the border), so I'm tagging them with scan needs replacing. And it's usually the same 3 or 4 uploaders that are guilty of the crooked, washed out, pulled from the net low quality, or incorrect images on here. When you can't even read any of the words on the backs of the cards because they were scanned so poorly, it makes you wonder if the person uploading was interested in helping the site, or getting points. And then you have to wonder what did getting all those points do for them? (I mean, I get why someone would get thousands upon thousands of points at COMC, you actually get money to spend on the site. But not here.)

As for the second part of Billy's comment, I've found tons upon tons of Minor League cards tagged as Major League cards, and tons of Draft Pick cards tagged as Minor League cards.  I think the biggest problem is knowing what the difference between Minor League and Draft Pick cards is.  I've fixed many cards of each type tagged as the wrong one.

Completely agree with all of the above!  I won't say I've never uploaded an incorrect card (some sets are confusing), but I will say, each and every scan I upload is from my collection and I do the best I can at cropping and otherwise with my very modest scanner!

I've said it before, the Scans Need Replacing is not being used for its intended purpose.  It was for replacing images of cards in poor condition (like 100 year old tobacco cards); severely creased, written on, stained, etc. It shouldn't be used for just plain old lousy scans of perfectly good cards.  Lousy scans should be removed not tagged "Scans Need Replacing".

And for those that care, having the image removed removes the points from the offender.

I for one have uploaded a wrong image, hence the other day when I somehow uploaded a promo card as the regular and was corrected rather nicely by another member. Uploading images should be ones that you own. Just saying.

Totally agree with you (on the comment, not on the teams you cheer for).  We all have uploaded a wrong image by mistake.  When I have, I have advised admin if I realized my error.  The same with checklists.  But when it gets to the point where I need not even look at who uploaded an incorrect image to know the probable culprit, then it is a bit too frequent.

The only images I have ever uploaded are cards I own; I kind of take pride in that.

Would you agree that scans of cards that are cut off by more than 10% (or where text that is present on the actual card is missing from the scan) should be replaced? (And, subsequently, marked as such?)
