I have color variations on numerous cards and was wondering if this has any significance? Example: Kyle Brady rookie has the same number on the back D221, but one has yellow blending into blue for the draft pix logo and the other has yellow blending into the red? It is amazing how little I paid attention to these things when I used to collect. I also hate how card companies sometimes leave it up to the person having extreme knowledge about the product to determine what the cards designation is. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

They did the same thing in the 1995 Stadium Club Baseball and I have never seen any explination as to why there is color differences in the foil. I have never noticed a difference in prices and usually they are always seem to be listed together without any one type being marked as a variation or short print. Maybe they just were printed in different locations or foil was changed out without anyone noticing a difference during the printing process.
I did pick up the different colors for my Griffey collection.

Just curious. What is the difference between the base and the diffractions? I really don't see any difference between the photos here other than coloring. Even when I compare the two versions of Dave Brown #X202 that I have I only see differences in the foil coloring. What is the true difference. Am I missing something on the card?

The major difference in the Diffraction version is it is a solid color for the TSC logo and banner on the card. The non-diffraction version has multiple colors.
Also, to add to the conversation, I currently have 9 different variations of the Barry Sanders banner with all different color variations, Stadium Club did the same on Members Only cards.

This has been mentioned in other threads for other SC sets where the foil has "color variations".
The foil used was not a solid color. Depending on how the sheet was fed with the foil stamping, every card could technically be "unique" in the way the color is displayed on the card. Due to this being simply a matter of foiling, this is not considered a variation per TCDB guidelines and they will not be listed here. (This would be akin to us listing every serially numbered card individually because the SN changes on each card.)

I don't care one way or the other what you add or do not add to the site for color foils. I was just writing an example of what I had.

I was mainly addressing the point in Corky's post where he stated that he had "never seen any explination as to why there is color differences in the foil." Sorry that I didn't clarify that in my earlier post.

So based on the explanation as to the difference between Diffraction & base cards. Could someone please add those notes to the Diffraction set so anyone wanting to add cards to that set will hopefully read it first. Most of those cards in the Diffraction set do not belong there.
