Card Identification Forum

I'm not sure which card this is.. There are 6 listed under Martin on the checklist.. 

First, I hate this set. I totally drank the Topps Kool-aid and jumped in with both feet. The way the set ran was each player on the checklist had various stats. In the case of this card it is Russell Martin hitting 65 RBIs for the season. So the checklist number for the card is #73 (Bottom left corner above Topps logo) and it is marking his 3rd RBI so that makes this card #73-3 and is the white SN150 version. To add confusion there is also a Black SN29 and Red SN1 parallel of this specific card.

I can understand the hatred for the set.. I'm not a fan of gimmicks like that either. 

12,475  cards in the set???

Yup. This thing was massive. I think I have one card in my collection. I'm sure someone out there managed to complete it, but I don't think I could have the patience.

Throw in the fact that as Corky mentioned, there is still parallels for a 12,000 card set, and I would be livid at Topps for something this crazy/stupid/utterly fascinating.

In case you couldn't tell, I don't like this set. Same with 2008 Upper Deck Documentary.

I don't like this set either, I think I have a few but won't go out of my way to collect them.  As for the 2008 Documentary set, I really liked the idea, it was the execution I hated.  If you're going to document every game, I want a photo from EVERY game.  I don't need 86 Albert Pujols cards using the same photo.  Otherwise, I liked it, and wish they actually did an update set covering the playoffs.  I could have done without the gold parallel set though, and whatever other inserts they included.  A couple wouldn't be bad, but the focus should have stayed with the games themselves.

I'm working on both sets and get close on both.

Anyone interested in starting it, I have many dupes.
