Card Identification Forum

I picked this up in an old book store in Fergus, Ontario yesterday. It is 1936 John Player & Sons National Flags and Arms (I can't find it in the database, so if any non-sport experts can confirm this it will be added in). It is not so much a mystery as I found it in multiple locations on line for confirmation, but rather a question of what to do for the database. All 50 cards are present and in the album, of which I have attached a page from the middle, which means after I add the set and checklist I can scan all the fronts of the cards, however I don't think I want to risk ruining the cards by attempting to peel them out of the book (#50 Yugoslavia is loose and I can see from a little peaking the cards are full with the backs). So in this instance if I can find good scans of the back from other sources would it be appropriate to use them (assuming not on copywrite type pages) to fill the gallery? Also, for packaging as you can see my little book once belonged to somebody named "Billy" (No doubt not Billy Kingsly as these would never get out there again ) so since it is like 82 years old should I add this cover to packaging scans?

I think you should add front an back covers (if the back has anything on interest on it and not blank).

I would even say that a scan of an inside page would be cool, to show a bit more of the book quality to it, but I might get shot down on that one as it's not truly the packaging the cards came in. (I still say submit it, as Admin reviews all that stuff still and it gives Admin final right of refusal - if it gets past that level of scrutiny, it's okay to be on here in that spot!)

As for the backs - sure. As long as they meet the min size requirement, that would be fine. Besides, what you find online may be in better condition that what you currently have, and due to the age, I don't think you have to worry about them being mock ups from the company! :)

I have posted several tobacco album covers and backs to the packaging images page. There has been a couple forum threads on this topic and the concensus has been to add them.

I really like Dan's idea of scanning the inside pages. Some tobacco albums really add to the understanding / appreciation of a tobacco issue. Of course, do we then start adding scans of more modern sticker album pages? I would say yes, but it's not my website and I don't worry about data storage.

Thanks for the input guys! On the way to my oldests baseball tournament this weekend so I will take care of this Sunday night/Monday!
