This one is totally out there to me. I have no idea when it's from, and all I was able to find doing some research is that J.J. Newberry's was a department store along the lines of Kmart, which was in operation from 1911-2001.
I think this card is 1930s, but it could be early 40s, as well. By 1946 he had begin losing his hair but they could have used an older photo I suppose. His career began in 1921. (I never heard of him before buying the card, so thank Wikipedia) It's small and thick, 2.1 inches tall and 1.2 inches wide. It's 1/16th of an inch thick, about the same size as some modern relic cards. Thicker than a Flair card The edges are also dark brown cardboard, although the front and back are faced in bleached white card stock that has aged with the years.
It only cost me $1.33 and it looked old so I thought I would take a chance. Now is the hard part, in IDing it. Thanks in advance!
VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards.
