In the process of collecting all of the various Mark Fidrych MSA disc variation from 1977, I also managed to pick this up somewhere along the way. Obviously it is an MSA product; judging by the design, it's probably from 1977.

But does anybody know who was using MSA discs as soft drink lids that year? The lid design/construction closely resembles the 1983 Roy Rogers Yankees MSA lids., but it also has a perforated straw hole.

Literally hundreds of outlets.  MSA sold their products to whoever wanted to use them for promotional sales.  A store could get their custom logo/ad printed on the back or they could buy blank backs.  Of course it's impossible to tell where the blank backs were sold.

I remember them as well, different places around Ann Arbor/Detroit area had them. This is one of those "If I knew then, what I know now" Category. There were display posters of all available lids/disc at a place next door to Kresge's which was a soda shop. I think the difference is the color of the stars or logos posted as this is similar to the other 1977 versions  Would be nice to see your collection posted. Good luck tracking down

Ah...thank you. I have the nine standard (light green) Fidrych MSA discs from 1977 (MSA, Saga, Wendy's, Chillee Willie, Holiday Inn, Detroit Caesers, ZIp'z, Dairy Isle and Pepsi) The Pepsi disc is still in a glove; someday I might get a wild hair and seek out a detached Pepsi disc. I chased them all down about 5-6 years ago; if I recall correctly, the Wendy's was the hardest to find, but the MSA disc is the one with the highest price tag. The lid I won on Ebay, but it came so well packaged in a little box that I essentially set it aside on my desk and forgot about it until long after I forgot whatever the Ebay listing said. I also had a Sanders glass somewhere, which I'm pretty sure has the same photo of Fidrych, but I have no idea where it is.
