I know I've stated this elsewhere, but the forums are a huge area to traverse these days, so I will never fault anyone for "not looking through the forums first" - too much here these days.
Anyway, here is my take, based on several conversations with Admin about this very topic:
- If a card image is photographed, very low resolution, the wrong card, watermarked, or incomplete, submit an IR to get the image removed completely.
- If a card image is simply crooked, washed out, or the coloration doesn't quite look like the card in hand - replace the image.
I have reported hundreds of cards. I have also replaced images (washed out). I will eventually get to the Star stuff, and I will replace some images that are just crooked, but not really incomplete (they are borderline, but not bad enough to have them removed, but I know I can do a better job of getting the cards straight). Now that it is "public knowledge" when a scan is replaced, I don't think contacting anyone before replacing a scan is needed. I am curious, does anyone know if an e-mail is sent to someone when their image is removed? Because, if that's the case, then they have a chance to replace their faulty image.
