I know this is 2006 Topps Baseball, but what type of product is it?

I bought an 800 count box of unopened Cello packs of Topps Baseball at an antique store this weekend. I don't collect modern cards and I haven't bought a pack since '97 so I'm not familiar with modern packaging.

Since I bought these at an antique store I have no idea of their history or what type of product they would have come from. Did the dealer repack these himself? If so, he did a great job.

I normally wouldn't have bought them, but $4.00 for an 800 count box of mostly unopened cards....had to do it.

I don't have any desire to open them myself...I don't think they contain inserts....and I thought they might make good "bonus cards" for trades.

I just opened three packs. I started with one to see how many cards where in it (15) and then decided to do two more. I forgot how fun that was.

All I know, Chad, is that I believe I need that Bonds card.

I don't know if they were running the promotion back then, but this seems similar to packs that the MLB teams distribute at the fan assistance desk each game.  These are usually contained in about 800-count boxes, so it's probable that you got an extra box that had originally been from a team.  That said, I only know of that promotion going back to about 2015 so it could be something else.
